Please note that weei is local media that is supporting the patriots.
Do you think they MADE UP the memo they just read verbatim???? WTF.
The memo was unclear...... and left wiggle room for BB to say -
"we never intended to use the tape for during the game. We tape everyone and then, as part of analysis post-game, we see if there is any usable stuff for us to use later down the road. I was under the impression that that was fine, so long as we did not use it during that game, which we had no intention of doing. Is that wrong?"
Goodell will HAVE to take that into account because the MEMO leaves a little bit of wiggle room. It should just say "YOU CANNOT VIDEO TAPE DEFENSIVE SIGNALS, PERIOD." Then it's clear.
It's hard to come down too hard on that................
It should have said that TEAMS can NOT have video taping/ playing equipment on the sidelines, field, coaches booth, or in the lockerroom. And that NFL Security will spot check those areas to ensure that is the case.

It would make sense that Belichick taped the signals for intent to use in Week 15, though Goodell couldn't condone this either, even though the "letter of the law" says it can't be used DURING THE GAME.
You know what headline would be worth all this crap:
GOODELL ISSUES APOLOGY TO PATRIOTS
Pats did not violate rules, Commissioner says
Then......as for Hines Ward, LT, Strahan, Jack Del Rio, Tomlin......
RUN
AND
HIDE.
Dont forget McNabb who apparently wants his ring back.. oh wait.. he wants any ring he can get..
He might take his frustration out on the Pats, but I'm thinking his relationship with Kraft is more important than that. I also believe Kraft will try to work with Goodell to help him put this issue to bed...maybe agreeing to a "punishment" since the Pats certainly weren't above board with this whole situation.
richpats,
Are you saying that Paul Brown who started doing it and, Vince Lombardi, John Madden, Don Shula, Tom Landry,
Chuck Noll, et cetera couldn't be condoned from filming and studying game film, post game, for use before the next meeting? The NFL itself, trades tapes to teams from the previous three games to every team, so even that is NOT WRONG in any way.
No only innocent because not proven; NOT Guilty in any way.:singing:
Unless there was a direct connection from the camera to some coach able to influence a play in the 10 -15 seconds available to alter a package onto the field. That is improbable.
Now I want compensation. The first pick in the draft in 2008 for the disruption and character defamation, would assuage I think.
We may still get slapped for actually having the camera on-field though. As long as it's clarified that we did not violate rules when it comes to cheating.
He did say it was online...don't know where...but he said it was available..Does anyone have a direct link to the doc that Ordway keeps reading?? I couldnt find it in the rule book.
