Does anyone know who this was:

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/general/view.bg?articleid=1031183
One smiling, beat reporter sat with his laptop open with a picture of Richard Nixon in the background facing toward the podium where Belichick was speaking, according to a locker room spy.

And here I was thinking reporters were supposed to be impartial. While I agree that we deserve the punishment this is just personal. I want to know who this dirt was.

Just a guess here but it was probably the pr*ck who kept asking BB about spy-gate and caused BB to walk off stage.

Just a random thought, but does anyone think the media has any blame in the public persona of BB? I think they egg him on and ask questions purposely to tick him off and then they get to write about his bad behavior. If you listen to his PCs and reporters ask him good football questions, he is great to listen to, he will talk your ear off about football. But as soon as someone asks about a player injury or tries to get him to slam one of his players or a player from another team, his personality turns to ice. Defending his players and his team is like one of us defending our families. I am the same way, usually sweet and laid back, but say something rude or mean about my 3 year old niece and I am hell on wheels.

I'm betting it was Tomase.

BTW -- welcome back Bill's Girl. good to hear from you again.

This whole situation is a great example of why Belichick treats the media as if they're slime. When they have an opportunity to act like scum or just report the facts, such as now, they almost always choose the former.

I'd be answering media questions in Klingon, by now.

That's simply unprofessional and if it comes out which reporter did this, he should be suspended and/or fired frankly.

I know exactly who it is, it's Tomase. I heard him on the radio down here in Virginia on the John Riggins show and he selling BB down the drain. He concluded his interview with the "Richard Nixon" comment. Tomase has it out for BB, you should of heard him. I'll take Reiss over this slob anyday.....

Hi Hoodie....This whole thing is making me crazy!. I came back to the board two weeks before the season started because I missed talking about football. Since then we have had the Brady Baby issue, the Rodney issue, the videotape issue, every reporter in the country calling OUR team cheaters, and people questioning if this will tarnish Tom Brady's career. Maybe it's me, maybe I am the jink, bad juju, cursed or without karma....

Oh I know who he is.....I used to work with him at the Eagle Tribune. I worked in the advertising department. Whenever he was around, he was so far up Bill Burt's ass you could only see his feet. He wrote the same way for the Tribune so those of us up here on the North Shore have been used to his venom for a while, so now that he is with the Herald, the rest of Massachusetts and those who read online get to hear his BS! Goody!

Just like Borges and Shaughnessy, I've blacklisted him, I won't read anything he writes. Actually the only football writer in Boston I read is Mike Reiss.

In my view, the media is jumping on Belichick now because of the way he has treated them

Scratch that, reverse it.

Interesting. The John Riggins show doesn't happen to have an audio archive on the web somewhere, does it?

I know, it's making me crazy too. The only thing we can do is ride it out. As for you being bad juju, if that's the case, please go away. :)

Just look at Tomase's blog; quoting any player or coach who has anything to say on the matter, except of course for those quotes that suggest it's no big deal. You'll find Ward, Tomlinson, Strahan etc, but you certainly won't see Reeves, Tiki/Ronde, Kennedy, Parcells etc.

I posted this in another thread but it's been so busy I don't know if anyone noticed but it's worth noting that last year Tomase wrote:

"No two coaches appeared more inseparable than Eric Mangini and Romeo Crennel, which should come as little surprise since the former succeeded the latter as Patriots defensive coordinator. Neither appeared to have much if any public interaction with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, but in fairness, their paths didn’t cross much in the lobby."

But today he wrote:

"Belichick doesn’t seem too keen on hobnobbing. At the NFL owners’ meetings two years ago, Mangini and Romeo Crennel were inseparable. They frequently walked right past Belichick without even breaking stride."

Interesting how the spin is different today than it was a year ago.

BB doesn't like Tomase and treats him with contempt so Tomase is just returning the favor.

Are you new to the Boston area? ;) j/k

Probably right. Too bad the media don't jump on themselves for the way they treat others.

You should mail Tomase those two quotes.

I did. Posted them in the comments section as well. If T-shirt get the link to the Riggins show I'm sure we'll have more ammunition.

The enabling, glossing over, white-washing, and delusions continue...

I'm no big fan of the 'media', and correct, 'impartial' is a thing of the past, but let's be real here. I think I'll go cheat on my taxes, and when I get busted by the IRS, I won't have to pay it back or pay any penalties because tons of people do it, and I just didn't have the money at the time and...according to some of the twisted logic of quite a few of you. My punishment should be light because other people are 'guilty', too. Tell that to the state trooper who pulls you over for speeding. You're the one that got pulled over, yo, not the other guys that are speeding past you while the trooper is writing out your ticket.

It could certainly be true that Belifraud has been being watched because he's the biggest fish in the pond and singled out for persecution. Good, and I'll tell you why. Goodell's got big b*lls to go after the biggest perp - but only if he really sticks him. Why would going after a team in the basement set any sort of example? It wouldn't deter the Slob one bit, and the only way it will change is if Mr. Untouchable is brought to task. Sorry, but the excuse mongering doesn't make him any less of a cheating dirtbag.

A more correct analogy would be if another person who cheated on their taxes grassed on you for doing it. To take it one step further, if you in fact get turned in by the person you used to cheat on your taxes with, then I think it's fair to call it "hypocrisy".
