This upcoming NE/SD game which I thought previously was going to be a nip and tuck game to the wire is IMO now going to be one of two things on Sunday Night

It will be a blowout by either New England or San Diego

Which in other words means New England will have made a statement to the entire league that no distraction of the HC and FO is going to overtake this teams desire to beat a top contending SB team and they go out with an angry but determined mindset to destroy the Charger s and show the world they can ignore all of this propaganda

OR...

The Patriots will have been so wrapped up in this situation that they go a bit unprepared and ready to face the Chargers and get beaten bad.

I of course expect the Blowout win and hope thats the case but in either way I do expect whoever wins to win by 14 or more and of course its how the Players of NE handle all this stuff and hopefully ignore the extensive media coverage of it.

I don't know why this situation would change my mind of it being a close game but its a gut feeling it will go one of two ways - It is certain to be a very emotional game on both sides for sure.

I tend to agree with you. I think a blow out win on SD would be a nice way to put a cap on this story. If we were to be blown out the will say it was because of this distraction or because we could not cheat.

I think it would be hilarious to see all the bandwagon fans come running back to the team IF we crush the Dolts.

Belichick to team Sunday night: "They think we can only win if we cheat. Go show 'em".

Worse yet everyone (except us) will be dancin' in the streets. This will probably be a highly-rated game just for that reason. If we get beat handily this will be far worse than the AFCCG.

I think we'll win rather easily. It's going to be like Belly's own Super Bowl, trying to show the league that his legacy, while tarnished at the moment, is well-deserved. I'm sure the players will play their hearts out for Coach.

I would love to see the bolts get blown out and then have our players refuse to speak to the network after the game.

Well we wanted adversity and now we got it and more. Circle the wagons guys, don't talk to any of the media (that means you too Hobbs) , just go out there and pummel the chargers, and show that we don't need no stinking signals to get the job done !!

I still think it's going be a close game, decided within the last 3 minutes.

Two words

Lawyer Milloy

All the noise in the press doesn't change that Light has to stop Merriman, Kaczur has to stop Philips, Green and Colvin have to stop LT's runs to the right (he's going nowhere against Vrabel and Warren). Thomas and Sanders and Wilson have to stop Gates.

Their secondary now has to face Moss and Stallworth and Welker, and Maroney is healthy and Morris doesn't tap out after every five yard run.

Pats win.

Cameras don't play the game.

I don't know how sunday will go. I'm under the impression that this will cause a large enough distraction and the Chargers will win by ten or so.

But what if the Pats win, and then keep winning? Who else on the schedule besides the Colts is really going to give them a hard time? (other than inevitable annual meltdown in Miami)

What is Napolian, Fisher, et al. going to say if they keep winning while being the most closely scrutinized and observed team in the league?

Goodell needs to act fast, even if the punishment is severe. They already had the entire preseason clouded by the Vick conviction, don't let all of week 2's game go down the drain in a cloud of speculation if they know for sure that a wrong was committed.

I think the Pats players are going to "Medieval" on the Bolts Sunday night as a solidarity gesture. We win by 10 points.

Vegas gives you 3 1/2 in your home.

I dont think the Chargers really care that the Patriots are upset they have been exposed as cheaters.

Chargers have been waiting for this game for 7 months and are not lacking motivation.

This will not be a blowout. SD has lost only 1 game by more than 5 points in 3 years.

i think the pats are in a no win situation, win or lose their image is dead forever, it's a shame.

this is also a meaningless game regardless of whoever wins...cause it's week 2 , it's not the playoffs, it's not even an interdivisional game.

And, I might add, The patriots don't really care now that the Chargers have been exposed as cheaters. They do care and get motivated by things that opposing players say, however. And, I think they are going to role like a machine.
