I'm the guilty party who posted the picture. I did it as part of a lively set of discussions on this board regarding the taping by the Pats.

In retrospect I wish I hadn't. I didn't think far enough ahead of the ramifications and how it might be pirated and posted around the globe and only add unsubstantiated 'evidence' and that the Patriots had committed a misdeed. That person was NOT doing the illegal taping...

I want to apologize to all the members of this board and to anyone else who may have been in the line of fire for this misguided post. I screwed up!

As for punishment you may flog me in the body part of your choice...or spew your venom in the thread.

If you're really a woman and you're actually somewhat good looking than maybe I'll take you up on that offer, you don't have any STD's right? :D

If you saw me naked you would run screaming from the room!

There's more damage being done by those who think that stealing another team's calls, signs and signals is cheating, and therefore all Patriots wins are suspect

It's not, and in fact the NFL allows such "cheating" and all teams are said to engage in it. For whatever the reason they draw the line at using a recording device to do the "cheating".

You posted in good faith what you quite reasonably thought was video evidence. Later info showed that your photo was not of the suspected rule breaker as I'd commented on that picture thread. Why someone should be castigated for making a good faith investigation and photo work on their own is beyond me, regardless of the fact that it was later revealed to be erroneous. This forum would be near empty if erroneous posts were eliminated.

I have nothing polite to say about those who ripped off you and Patsfans, stealing your photo without attribution.

In Baseball they steal bases. Nobody says that's cheating.:D

You contributed to a discussion. You also approached it with the idea that you had no clue if it was actually the person in question, just that it could be. You didn't really do anything wrong.

What I find hilarious is how the picture has taken on a life of it's own even though it is inaccurate. I love the fact that it undermines the credibility of every fan or reporter who puts forth the picture. Every time that picture pops up it's essentially a big banner saying "I have no clue what I'm talking about." The picture serves as a reminder that the current controversy is more about perception and speculation than evidence.

Heck, be proud. How often do you do something that gets widely distributed like that?

You did not do anything wrong and had no way of knowing how far out of proportion this thing would be blown. If you are the Pats fan you say you are, I hope you stick around and talk football with us once all of this blows over - which it will.

You did nothing wrong at all, the Picture still has value because it show an illegal cameraman on the sidelines, no orange vest=cheater.

Am I the only one who sees this?

Hey, that pic might be instrumental in getting Mangini into trouble.

He's WAAAAY too close to the Jests bench to be some schlep. I don't care as much who he is, as much as where the hell is the roof he's supposed to have over his head??? Rules is rules.

Exactly, why doesn't this guy have a vest on? This issue needs to be taken up.

I watched the game over again and saw another camera man without an orange vest. I don't have a picture, but TB throws the ball right at him on 10:49 in the 1st quarter.

What I'm trying to say is that guy in the picture may not even of been the culprit and there were multiple guys with camera's on the sideline and who knows who they work for.

C'Mon tell me there isn't a small part of you that smiles with a feeling of power.:D

and I applaud your vigor

seriously though--it was a solid effort and innocuous at the time--blame the lack of common sense on the interweb for the ensuing weirdness

That guy is the Jets spy.

But BB is not a cowardly rat who goes running to the league so we move on.
