"His rival for top QB in the league, Peyton Manning, has done every commercial short of adult diapers, but Brady has done almost zero, even though, with his looks and charm and game, he could sell pogo sticks to seniors.

"You realize you're turning down a lot of dough, yeah, but it's just not me. I'm just not going to go out and do a Chunky Soup ad.... Like that [MasterCard] ad Peyton did about, 'Cut that meat! Cut that meat!' -- our D-line yelled that every time he came up to the line. 'Cut that meat!' Man, I'm so glad I didn't do that one."

Integrity. Check."

integrity? that's a good one.

you do realize that at about the same time Brady was watching the birth of his child that Manning had a freaking children's hospital named after him?

Do they know about him exposing himself and "teabagging" a medical worker in college?

Do they have a statue of him with his nuts on some nurses face out there?

Did he really? Did he give them a bunch of money or something? I read something the other day about how his family was like the "First Family" of the New Orleans area. Which is funny considering that none of the Mannings went to LSU. I must have gotten the location wrong.

It's in Indianapolis

He did give a bunch of money - wouldn't disclose the amount though.

Agreed to help them with fund raising activities also along with the fact that his name recognition alone will apparently be worth a lot of philanthropy/research dollars.

you're reaching here.. really, really reaching for a disputed incident that happened, what, a dozen years ago?

Good stuff but it would have been better if he had them name it after his father as a sign of respect and humility.

Part of the deal is the hospital wants his name though for fund-raising/visibility.

Risky thing, though, naming something important after someone who's alive.

Probably some Jose Canseco Avenues out there that had to be renamed

Well it's nice to know that Manning isn't just all forehead after all. It looks like he also has a big heart.

um your some how downplaying a Father watching his First baby being born?!?! WTF?

That's cool! A lot of former dictators, communist rulers, and tyrants liked to name buildings after themselves while they were alive too!!

Interesting, I never heard about this one. Shocking! But of course it happened 12 years ago and Peyton is a changed man!

Pretty easy to make a cash donation. Doesn't give you integrity.

There aren't "Several Paths" to integrity...as a matter of fact their is only one. If you don't know it, oh well.

I can state for a fact none of us here will EVER know if Peyton or Tom has "more" integrity. In fact, no one on this earth will ever know nor can we judge such a thing. I'm sure both Peyton & Tom would think this discussion is a joke.

Both being a father and helping build a hospital are 2 things that have ZERO to do with integrity...ABSOLUTELY NADA!

So to say such a stupid thing leads me to believe you know nothing about integrity.

Al Pacino said it best in the movie "Scent of a Woman"

"Now I've come to the cross-roads in my life. I always knew what the right path was.. without exception I always knew.. but i never took it.. because it was too damn hard!"

um your some how downplaying a Father watching his First baby being born?!?! WTF?

No doubt. That statement reminds me of Trot nixon's response to ARODs saying he's working out while others are taking care of their kids.

Would you rather that he be a deadbeat dad?

Nice. Good for Peyton. Some people can give money and time to charity without requiring public recognition. But that's OK.

I don't have a problem with either Peyton or Tom. I think they're both classy guys who work and play hard and are amongst the greatest ever at their position. But charity is kind of a BS way to measure integrity; after all...

"Vick donates to family of late firefighter - NFL - MSNBC.com"
"Proceeds were to go to the Ray Lewis Foundation, a non-profit charity organization dedicated to providing assistance to disadvantaged youth."
"RAVENS RAY LEWIS TACKLES BOWLING PINS FOR CHARITY"
"He said Carruth approached him and initiated a charity program"
"[Pacman] Jones declined to comment Thursday before playing in a charity golf tournament."

Everyone in the NFL has a charity and donates money to it and does other charity work on the side. That doesn't make them saints.

not really.. I bet Tom Brady is a pretty good guy, pretty responsible actually.

The post was in response to the guy questioning Manning's integrity, that's all.

Read the posts... The children's hospital WANTS his name out there for fund raising and visibility.

Suppose PM donated $5M.

What do you think is more valuable for a non-profit organization like a children's hospital in Indiana

$5M Cash or

$5M cash and ongoing name recognition and the ability to offer a press release that says "Welcome to new Peyton Manning Children's Hospital...."
