Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

Who is saying it's going to be a few picks. I've heard all this speculation all day about picks but I've not seen it coming from anywhere credible.

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

And here I thought the NFl would be down with it because they let it go last year when the Dolphins cheated against the Patriots.

Yes, I used the word cheated. Apparently, the NFL now defines it as such. I just wish the NFL would make up their minds and stop acting like hypocrites. Last year it was ok to use videotape to steal signals. This year it's not.

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

So the Broncos only lose a 3rd round pick for cheating the cap but we're going to lose multiple picks for this?

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

Does anyone have Goodell's statement? Did he mention the draft picks in there, or is that part just speculation by the ESPN talking heads?

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

We'll probably lose our #1 from S.F. and our #3 from Oakland.

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

And the punishment? ...

ESPN NEWS just said it about 3 mins ago. They also said it came from the league.

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

If your not a Patriot fan don't join the discussion what you should be worrying about is how your gonna react when Warren crushes Tomlinson.
Rivers is introduced to Thomas and Moss grows rampant through. your sieve of a secondary

Last year the Patriots were also warned to stop whatever it was they were doing. And they didn't, and they got caught.

I am beyond pissed about this, especially if it is costing multiple draft picks. What a stupid, arrogant move by this organization.

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

NFLN is now saying a forfeit and suspension of significnt time for BB is possible based upon league sources since this is the second time he has been found using these methods.

WOW! Stay tuned to channel 212 on direct TV.

Did they also say the competition committee would dish out the punishment because that's not good if that's the case---earlier today Tomase said that they competition comittee could not do this that it would ultimately be up to Goodell.

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

You know if first round draft pick/s are lost over this, it would be very stupid. WHY? It's the freaking Jets!

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

I don't see how they can take away draft picks for essentially a first offense. They may have been warned before, but they were never penalized before. I would think a fine would come first.

The 49ers blatently broke the salary cap back in the 90's (a far greater crime) yet got a slap on the wrist and fines.

A forfeit is horse****, and pure speculation.

No way there will be a forefeit no way I don't believe that crap.

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

Violating league policy does not = cheating.

Brian Urlacher violated league policy by wearing a Vitamin Water hat to media day. and he was punished for it.

Let's keep things in perspective. Nobody has even put up a very good account of what the competitive advantage to videotaping the signals is. all we know is that it is against policy.

so what?

Yeah...have you noticed that NO ONE is talking about how Miami stole signals last year? I think the Jests also did something similiar last season as well........If this were anyone other than the Pats...this crap would not be big news and swept under the rug.....Can you see ESPN's talking heads admonishing tony Dungy and Polian for "stealing signals".....Let's be hones....several players and coaches if they are HONEST will tell you that they see it happening all the time....doesn't make it right...but you can't punish ONE without punishing everyone........I think a stern warning would be the correct call by Goodell......anything else would be unfair and slanted to try to weaken the pats system.......

Re: ESPN NEWS just said Goodell...

Perhaps your first rounder might be a nice wake up call to get Belichek back in touch with fair play and honoring the game.

Whats going to be your excuse when the Pats spank your Chargers on Sunday. They stole rivers wrist ban?

wooooooooooo

Every week we hear how LT is going to be crushed. The Bears did a great job but the NFL MVP still found a way to beat them.

As for the Patriots, I think Ty Warren and company will be worrying about stopping LT, something they have never had success at doing before.

Nothing about the competition commitee. Hopefully Reiss or someone else can elaborate on this a little more.
