Great comment by Kraft

"I think what happened Sunday, I know a lot of fans are excited about this upcoming season, I know our family and organization is very excited. When you're successful in anything, a lot of people like to try to take you down and do different things. We understand that. We have a lot of people who work very hard. I think you heard some of the players speak about it,"

I know he says he can't comment on the investigation, but the above makes me feel a little better. I assume Belichick, now the the NFL has the tape, would tell Kraft if there was something to be concerned about, or if the Pats did do something wrong.

So I take it as good news...

God, I hope it is nothing. I am sick of all the crap about it. The whole thing smells bad.

He was also asked if he's spoken with coach Bill Belichick over the last 36 hours about the allegations.

"I have a lot of conversations with Coach Belichick, and he's working very hard in putting a game-plan together to hopefully beat the San Diego Chargers. That's what is important to me and I think is important to our fans," he said.

That's what's important to me, Bob. I figured you would agree. :D

in his comments he confirmed the NFL is investigating and " theres an "adjudication of it" which would refer to some type of decision coming down.

_____

Adjudication is the legal process by which an arbiter or judge reviews evidence and argumentation including legal reasoning set forth by opposing parties or litigants to come to a decision which determines rights and obligations between the parties involved. Three types of disputes are resolved through adjudication:

Disputes between private parties, such as individuals or corporations.
Disputes between private parties and public officials.
Disputes between public officials or public bodies.

That essentually confirms the story is BULLSH!T.

No way Krafty would have go THAT far if the issue was "in doupt". He already said alot right there. There is either nothing to it, or whatever happened was either not-nepharious or otherwise gamesmenship.. He's obvious got BB side and is comfortable. Or he would have said something like "We'll let league process play out, we have no comment" PERIOD (no qualifiers). ........... Here's how I think the conversation with BB went;

.....

RK: Bill, the the heck is going on here............ This is serious.

BB: {chuckling}... You ain't gonna believe this one Bob. You know that old 1980's Video Recorder we have in the store room. I gave it to Tony and told him to go dance around a while in front of Mangina's bench. Make it look real obvious like your taping the signs and all. {hehehehehehehehe}

RK: No way.............. {with that fatherly smirk}

BB: Yeah, it was so funny, he's over there dancing like total ****** until they finally noticed him. It was the cat's ass. We were all busting a gut, Cassel was laughing so hard he couldn't even hold the ****ing football.

{they both burst out into the giggles}

RK: Seriously Bill, you gotta knock this sh!t off. The league is gonna get pissed at you for messing with everyone like this. They have a tape of some kind at the league office. What am I gonna say about that? What is on that tape?

BB: No worries. It's just a old bootleg copy of "the Little Mermaid". You know how Eric loves Disney........... hahahahahahhahhahaha

RK: Okay, just don't do it again {suppressing laughter}

In CEO-speak, Bob Kraft just went to the wall for Bill Belichick by assigning accountability for the situation to jealous or overly zealous competitors. To me, this means either:

1) Kraft has spoken to Belichick about the matter and been assured by him that neither BB nor anyone of whom BB is aware had anything to do with this.
2) Kraft has not spoken to Belichick about the matter, figures that BB has had over 24 hours to tell him if he was involved in anything that could embarass the franchise and has assumed there is nothing to worry about.

In either case, Kraft has acted like a leader and put his own neck on the line by backing his guy.

FWIW, even if there was nothing on the tape but old Teletubbies episodes, the Pats would likely at least get fined a few K for having a camera on the field illegally.

Robert Kraft believes that the morals of his organization have not been compromised, and that is more than good enough for me. There are few more decent, charitable, philanthropic gentlemen in the United States. Any "alleged" Pat fan who feels the need to criticize this organization with nothing more than toilet paper for evidence should shut his freaking pie hole, and go back to rooting for his real team (the NY Giants or Red Sox).

Whether it's true or not, the media has achieved it's objectives. Even if it proved false, they have create a miasma of negativity around the team they would like to see go away. And sold some ad space / upped web hits / increased commercial ad rates. It's all gravy.

You are seeing , close up, how the media can creates it's own reality in line with it's agenda.

Embarrassed by this nothing story, Jets fan Tony Soprano has Mangini - last seen eating lots of pasta at Vessuvio's - roughed up by Paulie Walnuts for making overweight bosses of Italian descent in northern NJ look like a bunch of whining ****ies.

No video of Paulie's handiwork will be available for the NFL to review.

They did this last year as well with BodyLanguageGate, HandshakeGate and ShoveGate. Didn't stop us from a successful season. I think we're used to this.

Oh Danny Boy......have some humble pie please.

Your either with us or against us....

They are trying to distract the coaches and the players.

If the other teams can't man-up and beat us on the field than they will do it in the media.

Or attempt to legislate an advantage like Polian did with the "Ty Law rule emphasis".

I hope you guys are right, but I read nothing in those comments that makes me ASSUME that this thing is over and that the Pats are out of the woods. He's letting the process take its course and he's proud of the organization no matter what, and feels that, if there is wrong-doing, we'll take the consequences.

I REALLY hope I'm wrong, but I don't see any reason to be relieved quite yet. That was nowhere NEAR a flat-out denial.

No flat out denial, but I understand that. They're not going to directly comment when the league is investigating, probably something the league always asks teams to do.

But this part...

"When you're successful in anything, a lot of people like to try to take you down and do different things. We understand that."

...sounds to me he thinks there's nothing serious to the allegations? That's what I thought. Why mention people who 'try to take you down'? What else would he be referring to?
