(1) Bill Belichick is in charge of this team.
(2) Bill Belichick is NOT an idiot.

Certainly he has to know what's going on. He also has to know that other teams have seen these "cameramen."

If he were actually trying to cheat, don't you think he'd, you know, be more subtle about it at this point?

I just think there's a lot more smoke here than fire. [It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the cameraman had never turned on the camera.]

iam interested to know how this wouldve worked

a)cameraman sees jets defensive call
b)signals to pats bench
c)bench tells mcdaniels what is going on
d)mcdaniels then tell brady over the headset
e)brady makes an adjustment
sounds far fetched.

if it was recorded for the next series of plays , its tough to imagine the offense sitting on the sideline and cramming up jets defensive signals instead of worrrying about what they are doing.

Since he's been caught a few times before, I'd say he's interested in the information he gets.

Great!! Another thread about this topic!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking. NFL Office -"hey Joe there's nothing recorded here."

Here's the key loophole. You can get away with using the lense on the camera to watch the Jets signals as long as you don't actually record it, lol!

But the thing that still doesn't make much sense to me about all this is why the heck would the Patriots send him over to the Jets sideline if they were trying to steal signals? They could have placed him far away and just had him watch with a high powered zoom lense. Really, this doesn't make much sense. Also, why would they use the same guy who according to the Packers already got cought.....unless the Patriots wanted to be cought :) I thought of this last night as well, maybe BB's just trying to play mind games with the other teams. He wants them to think he's watching their signals so they'll try and change them up in game, and maybe some of the players forget the new signals?

My first thought upon hearing the news was that they were getting some footage for a possible new 3GTG DVD and wanted some behind the scenes 'x and o' footage of how the Jets were scrambling to adjust to the Patriots unsuccessfully.

With how much the Patriots have filmed the opposite bench during their SB runs I'm not sure why anyone would jump to the conclusion that Belichick was trying to cheat.
