So let me get this straight:

The Pats snuck a guy with a video camera onto the Jets sideline, and videotaped the defensive signal caller from ten yards away?

If true, this is one of greatest acts of hubris in the history of professional sports.

I've attached ursa99's picture purporting to show the culprit for dramatic effect.

I think this is absolutely hilarious.

True or not, fifty years from now it will be cited as proof that BB's balls are the size of NJ.

Bravo!

couldn't agree more...brilliant. I'm pissed my coach wasn't doing it to be honest.

I was just reading over in SI that Green Bay was caught doing that to us last year. They had a guy dressed in Patriots gear video tapeing what was going on.

Detroit has contacted the NFL tonight as well for the investigation - They said it happened during thier game as well when last year in NE - A 3-13 team is thinking we cheated- thats pathetic.

I think its a pretty common occurance and the only reason theres a half a dozen threads dedicated to it is because the jets fans started them because they lost, and now the Dolts trolls are pileing on. If the Jets won it would be a minor issue if true.

It's all sour grapes at this point. You'll see every team in the league contact Goodell and piss and moan about the Pats cheating and stealing their wittle signals.

Never mind that WE could have given the Lions and Packers our playbook and patched their coaching staff's headsets into ours and they still would have had their asses handed to them. At some point, the jealousy crosses the line from pathetic to humorous.

I think the Bolts fans are even more obnoxious over the Jets fans,God I hope we win sunday night and shut these ***holes up

Well you have to admit though that Detroit had us beat last year till the final few minutes of that game - Detroit played their best game in 2006 in New England - no doubt

We will never really ever know this now, will we...

For all we know Billichick and Brady's "greatness" could be all the work of his trusty old scouting instinct....AKA his Walkie Talkie.

There was a poll about two months ago "who are the worst fans" I voted for S.D. I wrote that the Jets fans had now ben bumped out of first place by Dolts fans. I quess when you've never won ANYTHING maybe the only thing you have a shot at is winning the most azzanine fan award. :rocker:

Yes...the Bolts fans do have a certain unwashed, low brow quality to them.

Its funny but the team I hate the most,The Colts have some of the better fans for at least the ones that come in here - Its almost mutual respect for most of them - At least they KNOW who is right up there with them in terms of talent and winning.

No we WILL know.
Because when the committee, Na-Polian and all, look at that tape, and all it is is the episode of Sesame Street that Mangina was in, capped off with BB giving the viewer the finger, we'll all know who the desperate twits are, who just want to undermine everything that the team has accomplished over the years.
Trust me, you Fizzle fans won't be here this time next week.

I'm afraid even if we blow them out they won't shut up. They'll claim we cheated, they got screwed by the refs, if only so an so played they would have won the better team didn't win. etc.etc.etc.

The irony in all of this is of course the picture that has been posted here. As you can clearly see, technology is so good at this point that the camera from the national broadcasat is clearly good enough in itself from its faraway distance to pick up any defensive signals. So ask yourself, why would we need to send someone a few feet away with a huge camera and in such a blatant manner to "steal" signals? Something else is going on here...obviously.

I love how the guy talking about Detroit says they said there's a guy in "Patriots gear" now...

This pic from the Jets game consists of at least 3 guys with cameras of one sort or another.

This guy is pointed at the guys on the Jets sideline. Nobody is even paying attention to him. Who are the other guys with cameras pointed at? How about the other couple dozen cameras down on the field?

Where is the tape???

This strikes me as one of those "accusation" stories that drags on for a while and gets ESPN in a lather, and then turns out to have zero evidence, despite supposedly having happened in front of 70000 people.

Hey guys, if we had their signals, why did Moss have to burn 3 guys for a TD, rather than lope wherever the coverage wasn't? Don't tell me... didn't have the talent?

Get stuffed, Jets-sons. All you clowns think it's free to claim the Pats did this or that to you, or the unpopular Bellichick was such a brute...

Etc....

Well guys, I'm thinking the Pats leave it alone in public, and take it out on your sorry asses on Sundays. By the time they get around to the "Oh sorry, our bad, turns out Mangina and Company needed an excuse to not be crucified in the NY News in the morning" story, you'll be watching us play on TV, and we'll be gettting sized for rings again.

It true, then WHY?

To gain an advantage?

Do we need an advantage? No

Then why?
_____________
How does it work exactly. Sent to a vid screen or something

And I think I'm blind. Where in the pic is the purported culprit?

I would presume it's the cameraman whose camera isn't pointed at the line of scrimmage.

Not only is it pointed over the Defensive coaches heads, he's also about 3-4 yds outside the field of play, while the coaches are ahead of him practically, in the field of play. Essentially, shooting pictures of them from the rear, side..... Possibly the WORST angle from which to get defensive hand signals from.

If I was BB and did employ this clown for the purpose of taping signals, I'd be more pissed that he picked a spot he couldn't possible get useful info from, the the fact that he got caught at all. How stupid

Wouldn't it have been better to come across the field of play and shoot footage from and angle that the signals would have been seen by? This is silly.
