WORST DECISION -- Randy Moss starting. Bill Belichick <http://www.bostonherald.com/search/?searchSite=true&keyword=Bill+Belichick&mode=score&sorting=pubdate> has a simple rule: You don’t practice, you don’t play. Apparently, the Pats didn’t keep attendance through August.

From Profootballtalk's rumor mill.............
MOSS HAD "SPECTACULAR" WEEK OF PRACTICE
As you're rounding out your starting lineup for Sunday's Week One fantasy games, keep this in mind regarding Pats receiver Randy Moss.
Per ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, Moss had a "spectacular" week of practice for the Patriots.

Well did he practice or not???????? Who cares but one of them is mistaken...
My bet is the one with the anti-Pats agenda.

Re: Who do you beleive Sal or Felger

Felger said through August - I guess he thinks that players should practice when they're hurt. His "spectacular" week of practice last week doesn't count to a jerk like Felger I guess.

Re: Who do you beleive Sal or Felger

If he practiced during the week leading up to the game, then he plays and/or starts. If Felger is trying to say that he didn't practice in August, then he's a douche.

And that's clearly what he said :

"You don’t practice, you don’t play. Apparently, the Pats didn’t keep attendance through August."

Re: Who do you beleive Sal or Felger

The thing I still give credit to Felger for - HE writes the lead piece on Moss. How ever many hundreds of words it was, essentially saying how wrong he was for a good month.

He clearly wants to stir it up, but he takes his lumps better than anyone. If that were Borges, he'd have written a full story on how great Brady played now that he finally has WRs, barely mentioning Moss. With Felger, it's line one.

The key is just not taking him too seriously. He's trying to be a Howard Cosell.

He ignores the fact that obviously Moss practiced last week and according to Paolantonio had a great week. The inference is that Moss shouldn't have started because he didn't practice (through August) but he DID practice last week......

Practice? Practice? We here to talk about practice?

I didn't know Felger still was a writer... amazing stuff, that you for digging this up.

Captain Hollywood has to have something to say. No one actually takes him seriously, he is characterture. Put him next to Lobel for least informative sports reporters. His only saving grace is that his show talks football.....

Felger and others forget:
- BB is focused on winning and so are his veterans. It starts with "No way Moss will ever play for the Patriots the veterans won't stand for it", the fact is the veterans want to win games and Moss helps them win. It is not about lessons or morals.
- BB has access to more information than Mr. No Eyebrows (never trust anyone with no eye brows). BB is at practice, has access to the trainers. Speaks to the QB and other captains. Felger just takes his lame potshots from 100 miles away.

Interesting in that BB didn't budge from his policy one iota. Moss practiced in the week leading up to the game. There's really nothing else to say, as Sal was on the money and Felgie is Felgie.

"You don't practice, you don't play" - in Felger's world, apparently this means that if (you're name is Moss and) you don't practice (AT ANY POINT), then you don't play.

If Felger really believes the worst decision BB made yesterday was starting Randy Moss, he's a virtual idiot. He doesn't, thought, he believes the fan base are the idiots and they will call his sorry excuse of a sports talk show on ESPN on WEEI Patriots Monday to tell him what a jerk he is. Otherwise he gets no callers today unless he talks Sox. LOL

Felger knows as well as anyone that the "rule" (of thumb I might add) is if you are not able to practice the week before the game, Bill won't play you. Randy practiced all week. Bill limited him, as he did Kyle and Tom Brady, on Thursday. It was a "team decision" in the case of Randy and Kyle, perhaps a novel attempt to insure two players returning from injury who had apparently practiced very well all week, did not suffer a fluke setback before Sunday. It was due to his probable shoulder injury that Tom Brady was limited, as he was again on Friday. Where is the outrage on both Brady's starting when they were limited in practice?

Felger is determined to be a contrarian, something he has confused with objectivity since starting his talk show, and much like Broges he will not ever really admit that he is/was wrong because eventually, if he stalls long enough, things might transpire that will allow him to claim he was correct all along (see Dillon, Corey).

His statement about Moss is pure idiocy. BB never went against any of his policies and he definitly stuck the main one:

Do What Is Best For The Team

The part of the pretend article that annoyed me was his "worst coverage" bullets. Did he write this pretend article after watching the ESPN highlights or did he see the game? Are we to assume that everytime another teams scores a touchdown on the Pats it was bad coverage?

I know Coles was wide open on the first TD but who really knows if it was Colvin's fault? The Jets were playing no huddle and shifting their formation and it caught our defense off guard. I am sure someone was out of position for the Pats but just because Colvin saw Coles uncovered and ran to cover him does not mean it was his responcibility. The Jets simply made a good move at that time, the right play call with the right disguise and our defense seemed confused.

I know writing about felger feeds the fire but isnt it hard to resist?

I take everything Felger says with a grain of salt. The last thing I'll do is second guess BB. At least not publicly ;)

so with that mentality, we would have healthy bodies sitting on the bench during thegame because they happen to be hurt in training camp??? brilliant

Felger is just a total moron.

First of all, Felger tells me this is a rule, but where did this rule come from? Did BB say I have a rule? No, the media notices that BB tends to do something, then says, "It's a rule he NEVER violates," which is nonsense.

Second, Moss did practice. He practiced all week from what I heard. Felger is saying that BB's rule is that if a player doesn't practice for five straight weeks he doesn't play?

If BB has a rule, it is to do what it takes to win a game. Felger has been saying since April that Moss will be a dud. Well, Moss apparently is not a dud, and Felger needs to cover it somehow. What a jerk.
