I was in section 138 yesterday, 11 rows from the field, corner endzone and saw three of our touchdowns up close. But the Moss score simply blew me away:

After taking the snap Brady was looking right the whole time, then turned and fired the ball to his left straight in my direction -- I was looking at the nose of the ball the whole way, a perfect spiral. But here's the thing: I knew the throw was intentional, but I was thinking, "What the hell is he doing? What does he see? Who is he throwing to?" At that point Moss wasn't even in my field of vision AND I WAS AT THE GAME! Then all of a sudden you see Moss emerge from a crowd of defenders with just enough room to grab the ball and step inside the pylon. The timing and placement of that pass was jaw-droppingly, incredibly, perfect. What a special moment. :rocker: :rocker: :rocker:

The most similar throw that I remember is the Bethel Johnson acrobatic catch -- without the theatrics. Moss really does make it look easy. I don't know if he can run a 4.29, but whatever it is, he is f a s t.

The other great play was the simple move in the middle of the field that left the Jets defender stumbling over his feet.

He's got more moves than a -- well, this is a public forum, I'll leave it to your imagination. Simply stunning.

What ever Moss was timed at its deceptive. He looks like he's just gliding,effortlessly.

Watching the replays this is what impressed me. They had a camera on Moss for the whole route...he goes down the right sideline, and is blanketed by 3 defenders, he starts to make the left turn and sees the ball in the air. He then kicks it up a gear that the other 3 just don't have and creates the separation.

That was a cool post, tune. You don't get that very often, even at the game. I saw a plaw like that at Buffalo in similar seats years ago, but it was Bledsoe, so I won't bother...ancient history.

Turnscribe, you could have waved to all of us, as with ten minutes left, the only ones left in the Meadowlands were the Pats fans. Did anyone else think that the stadium emptied very early yesterday? I know, from experience, it is a nightmare to get out of the Meadowlands, but com'on.

It's always astounding to me how different an NFL game is in person versus on TV. The angles, etc. I am always amazed at how the players really are playing a positional-spacing game and have to really be concerned about angles. This just doesn't show up on TV. The most amazing part is watching a passing play take place where the decision to throw the ball (and where) is made before the cut even takes place - - so much is anticipation and faith in the receiver-Qb combo. It's very hard for me to describe, but you did a great job with it, Tune.

Exactly. It seems like he runs just as fast as he needs to in order to get to the ball. I really think it would've been overthrown by 5 yards with any of the wr's we had last year. Amazing.

Thanks. That is amazingly insightful and gives me a whole new perspective on the play. Wouldn't it be nice if one of the announcers who gets paid a jillion bucks for calling the game could have somehow pointed that out as well?
