Jarvis Green isn't just an amazing sack machine, he is also stout against the run. This guy is probably in the upper half of starting D-linemen in this league, I can't believe he is a backup on this team. He is also a great bargain salary-wise.

Also, totally random, but much respect to Pennington for trying to get off the field multiple times after he got hurt.

Jarvis Green

3 sacks today.

Rest up that knee Rich....

It's all good!!!!;)

Re: Jarvis Green

Studliness defined.

Re: Jarvis Green

I don't know............ He is a back up and all

Re: Jarvis Green

I've always supported Jarvis and love the role he plays on this team. But we'll be missing Seymour when we face a good rushing team. He's just not near Seymour's ability in run coverage. We'll see next week though I guess

Re: Jarvis Green

Jarvis was a monster today, the Jets oline had no answer for our big 3.

Re: Jarvis Green

The Chargers O-line have their hands full today with the Bears D-line. Hopefully, next week it will be a repeat.

hopefully next week Wright will be available

what a game--Seau and KBrady were tremndous--what a physical team

Jarvis Green today: 2 sacks, 6 tackles.

he is a greay backup and would probably start full time on another team

calm down now, the jets offensive line could make anybody look as good as jarvis was today

this is very true, but jarvis has shown it in limited time before. he has a bunch more games to prove he's legit full time.

I'd rather have a healthy Seymour back, but Green ain't a bad replacement.

Who do we have to play Tommy Harris' role - diving at the QB from his stance
on a cadence?
Very disruptive!

Seymour is far far better than Jarvis.
But no complaints today he earned his paycheck.:D

Bingo. And they're not the same type of player either. Seymour is 6'6" and over 300 lbs. Green is more a traditional DE pass rusher with versatility.

Green is not just a backup, he is a situational player who got 7.5 sacks last year.

Warren and Wilfork have improved and Green gives us a devastating rotation, but there's no reason to dog Seymour.

He played last season with a bad ankle, a knee that needed surgery and a hyper extended elbow that required him to wear a piece of furniture on his arm.

I will agree that some team, especially a 4-3 team, might want to go after Jarvis, which is why we gave him a contract deemed to large for a backup by many here.

He's not a backup. He is, along with Sey, Wilfork and Warren, part of the most devastating DL rotation of the 21st century.

This thread is trash, Seymour is too good a player to mention it a good contribution to the team that he sit on the bench for jarvis who is a good player. Green are the type of players you hope will be there for an injury but some just can't have it like that.

I want as many good players available as possible. I don't want any good player taking thier time coming back.
