He had only what one catch? I think he only played in about 10 plays and none in the second half...why do you think this is?

Re: Where was Stallworth??

Because some guys named Moss and Welker were too busy getting open and catching TD's.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

Stallworth's time will come. Who's featured will vary from week to week based on who we're playing.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

I was actually thinking the same thing.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

Stallworth only makin' one catch, not really concerning me too much.

I was however very impressed with Kelley Washington on special teams. He brought a lot of energy.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

If Moss had signed before the Pats brought him in for talks, do you think he would have signed. I bet he is pissed that he is the #3 guy when he is playing for his FA contract.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, he's sleeping.

While the Chargers are game-planning all week for Moss. Stallworth will simply get his opportunity at another time.

Trust me, he still plays for us.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

Next week it may be Moss with 1 catch for 10 yards, whereas Stallworth has the big 8 catch 100+ yards. That's the Pats O for you. It's all about matchups.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

Stallworth will have his days.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

There are only so many plays a game.

Re: Where was Stallworth??

I think that that is the "crest" of the NE Patriots...that it is WHATEVER happens to create a win...IS ALL THAT matters...I guess it is like the Marines (From what I have heard...I was never in the military)...It is the team achieving the objectives...not the single effort or success by ONE particular team member...and that is somewhat tough for these guys that WOULD BE the OFFENSE for a particular team to get used to here I would imagine...that they are not the ONLY go to guy in town anymore...but just ONE of a TEAM!!! I think most posters are right...some days Moss will be the "go to" guy...the next weekend will be Stallworth's chance...and so on!

Re: Where was Stallworth??

To many weapons, so little time...Stallworth will get his time...

Reiss: Stallworth in on only 9 plays

WR snaps
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

A look at the final tally of snaps played by the Patriots receivers:

Randy Moss -- 39
Jabar Gaffney -- 37
Wes Welker -- 24
Kelley Washington -- 11
Donte' Stallworth -- 9

The Patriots had 65 offensive plays from scrimmage. The totals for the receivers did not include the final kneel-down.

I thought he was just a decoy and didn't get the ball a lot, I didn't realize how few plays he was actually in on. Interesting...I wonder why?

Someone I know at the stadium said he didn't learn the playbook too well.

I didn't think anything of it but maybe now I will start too.

Re: Reiss: Stallworth in on only 9 plays

It is what it is. Could have just been the gameplan. Could be something we see all year long, whether it's related to Stallworth's practice performance or not.

It also could be that, as Gresh or Tanguay mentioned on the postgame, that the Pats want to keep the tape level down on Stallworth for the Chargers to keep them off-balance.

Re: Reiss: Stallworth in on only 9 plays

I goota think they will need him once teams see the tapes of Moss (not that he can be stopped anyway).

Re: Reiss: Stallworth in on only 9 plays

Hmmmmmmmmm,

Interesting. Doesn't mean much right now. But, it's interesting.

Re: Reiss: Stallworth in on only 9 plays

Didn't realize Gaffney played so much...
