I think he'd be a good fit there, if they decide to sign him.

Ex-Patriots WR calls Cowboys
Posted: Saturday September 08, 2007 09:39AM ET

The agent for WR Reche Caldwell contacted the Cowboys yesterday. Caldwell led Patriots' receivers with 760 yards and four TDs last season but was cut after New England significantly upgraded its WR corps. Wade Phillips should know Caldwell well. The Chargers drafted Caldwell with their second-round pick in 2002, and he had four mostly mediocre seasons in San Diego. But he left a much better impression on Phillips the last time they met. Caldwell had seven catches for 80 yards and a TD in the Patriots' playoff win over the Chargers. Caldwell isn't considered a great deep threat, but he had a 49-yard catch to set up New England's winning field goal.

As per SI's truth and rumors.

The man certainly deserves a job. I cannot believe that there are 5 better receivers on every roster, or even most rosters.

I agree, but teams just spent the entire off season getting guys ready for the coming season to play in their system. If Caldwell locks on somewhere it will take him months before he can become productive. A lot like Gaffney last year.

How are you sir....!

Listen......I heard Terry Glenn may be on the shelf for a while....yeah....tough break.....

Listen....not to worry....as your receiving issues are behind you......

I'm a sports agent and a client of mine, who just happens to be the leading receiver for one of the top teams in the NFL last year and a real impact-maker in the post season wants to play for you!!!!

Good for him. I wish him all the best.

I continue to wish him well.

I hope that we bring him back in week 2.
He knows are system.
He is productive and we should keep him around till week 6 IMO.
maybe by then someone will offer some trade value for 1 of our recievers.

I wouldn't be surprised. The Pats may do it because if he is around after tomorrow, they can pick him up without having to guarantee his contract. His contract may have been the reason the Pats kept Washington over him in the first place.

He will not be back.

Could be, though I'll bet he shows up on a roster as soon as the first game is over nonetheless. I think he's just up against the vet salary guarantee right now.
