Joseph Addai has overtaken LT as the NFL's best RB.

Umm . . . no.

Is Manning a better passer? Yes.*

Is Manning a better quarterback? No.

*I'm still hoping Brady throws for about 64 TDs this year, just to shut people up.

First of all, who gives a crap? Secondly, Manning IS better than Brady. Brady's the better leader, better in the clutch, whatever, but Manning is PHENOMENAL, for lots of reasons. I love Brady, I prefer Brady, but you guys saying it's "ridiculous" that arguably THE best QB in the history of football is better than Tom Brady - it makes you look wild-eyed and out of touch. Relax. Our guy's good, too.

Gee whiz, talk about "man love".
That guy was practically gushing over Peyton.
No mention of the lame NO pass D though.

Tom Brady is arguable THE best QB in the history of football and has frequently been mentioned among the all-time greats like Montana, so your comment insisting that people who think Brady is better than Manning look "wild-eyed and out of touch" makes no sense.

Exactly. Nothing really matters until the very end of the season and someone becomes winner of the Superbowl.

Whats ridiculous is carucci, changing his mind after one game.
Brady could throw 4 ints. and loose the game, but lets not change our mind (no matter who you think is the best) on one game.

P.S. and didn't brady shred the saints, and have 4 td's against them in 2002 in foxboro?

I generally agree, but if our guy wins #4 this year.....get ready for a ballwashing of historic proportions.

Actually, how he should have titled that article was "It's official, David takes over for Starks as the worst CB, evah........."

On all three TD's the WR had beaten David like a rented mule and all Payton had to do was recognize it and throw to an open guy. Wayne and Harrison should get every bit the credit the Manning did.

Seriously. in the 1st half, Manning was average, in the second half, he took advantage of a very WEAK secondary (and defense in general). No pass rush to speak off. I can name 4-5 QB's that shouda, coulda, woulda exploited those same weaknesses.

Not taking anything from Manning, he's great no doubt, but it's utterly silly to say that those 3 TD's were based on his skill alone and not on totally blown coverages (by David).

who the hell cares what he thinks,
Well it's this kinda stuff that puts a chip on Brady's shoulder.

He wouldn't come out and say he cares, but even the most devoted football players need something to motivate them, if you don't think Brady ever sits back and thinks about his legacy, and being the greatest QB ever, then I think thats naive.

Shouldn't this game be one of the LAST games to look at if you are going to pick one to say "this is the game that makes him the best"

what a bunch of crap.

But he didn't say that anyone who says Brady is better looks "wild eyed and out of touch", he said anyone who thinks its "ridiculous" that Manning is better than Brady looks that way.

There's a huge difference.

True, if this article came out after the AFC Championship game last year, then it has some creedenance.

Brady has guided 3 teams to Super Bowl victories and had done so with far less offensive firepower than Manning has had. If some people opine that it's "ridiculous" to put Manning above Brady in comparison and are using information such as that for their logic, they are clearly not just "wild eyed and out of touch". They have a perfectly valid point. Remember, prior to last season, Manning was being looked at as one of the biggest choke artists in history. For some people, a tainted victory against 3rd string defenders simply isn't going to be enough to overcome that.

Still, I think anyone on either side of the debate who says it is ridiculous one way or the other is off base. I, of course, prefer Brady. I'd rather have cool under fire than inflated stats any day of the week. But if I were to say it is ridiculous that Manning could be considered better I'd be a homer at best and "wild-eyed and out of touch" at worst.

I think it's ridiculous for anyone to say that Marino was a better quarterback than Montana. Under the rubrick of both yourself and Patsox23, that makes me "wild-eyed and out of touch". I'm sorry but I simply cannot buy into logic that makes that the case.

Maybe a little overstated, but in general, I agree that Manning is one of the best. I enjoy watching the guy play despite the fact that I'm always rooting for the other team. He's in touch with everything on the field and reads defenses as well as Brady. As for how history will treat either Manning or Brady, I prefer to wait until their respective careers are complete. They both have more work to do.
