C's on Jerseys?

I am assuming it stands for Team Captain, but what do the stars underneath mean? It looks like one is yellowed and the rest are white.

Yellow stars show how many years they've been captain. Everyone just has one yellow star this year I think.

Ok thanks I figured it was something like that. Pretty cool idea. I always thought it was a little weird the NFL didn't designate Captains with something on their uniform like in every other pro league.

So are these C's going to be on every uniform or wha? If so, I wonder if when you buy a jersey of a captain if it will come with the 'c'. I checked NFL Shop and there is no C on Bradys jersey.

I hate them.

a) they're not uniform... the Saints had them on their shoulders, the Colts had 'em on their chest.

b) They ruin the balance and feel of a crisp, simple uniform. Looks NFL Europa-ish.

c) The stars are dumb. A guy that's already been a Team Captain for years is only going to have one star because they're only reflective of the players time in this new Captainship program?

Here is what the NFL is thinking:

Most of the replica jersies sold are of players who are team captains
Team capatains don't tend to leave their respective teams
So fans aren't buying new jersies of their favorite players
Put a C on the jersey - fans will buy new jersies

Hey TSD....I agree. They look stupid and cartoonish. When it comes to leadership, BB has always been about what is in you, not what you wear on your sleeve....pun intended. I wish he would muddy the waters and keep the patches for some boy scout troop! To me, the whole thing is redundant, the players know who their captains are...

Slightly off topic and likely to get me yelled at, but I didn't like it when the Sox gave Jason Varitek the "C" on his jersey. The Tek jersey I have is does not have the "C" and if they come out with them for Brady and Bruschi then I will be wearing last season's jersey this season too!
