I like his presence, his demeanor in the locker room. He gets it. He's a Patriot. I like this quote from todays' Globe, on how it feels like to play with Brady:

"It's just like playing with a Michael Jordan in basketball," said Washington. "It's just a great feeling to know that you're playing with the best at this position."

Re: I really like Kelly Washington

I like the 2nd effort he gives to get extra yardage after the catch.

Re: I really like Kelly Washington

very nice analogy kinda like lamb and tunafish

Re: I really like Kelly Washington

I like the fact that he's 6' 3" - other than that, everyone - Moss, Stallworth, Welker etc... needs to prove it on the field in a real game

Re: I really like Kelly Washington

He said he likes you too, but he doesn't like you like you, you know?

Re: I really like Kelly Washington

He's talented and has a lot of potential but I still think he's only here till Mr Jackson is ready to take the field.

Re: I really like Kelly Washington

First and goal...in comes Moss & Washington....man, that is a lot of height to park on the end line of the end zone.

I really think that along with the contributions on "teams" by Washington is why he made the squad over Caldwell.

Start there and consider all the possibilities....

NE should have a very good Red Zone TD conversion percentage this year - record breaking I hope.

Re: I really like Kelly Washington

Watson and Kyle Brady are pretty solid redzone threats also.

Remember our history with tall receivers. I'm more excited to see what Welker will do.

So is Mike Vrabel

Good call! Moss and Washington shouldn't even show up because, ya know, Gabriel and Donald Hayes suck.

I look fwd to Washington for years to come!

A few weeks ago no one liked him and he was a predicted cap casualty.

I know you're exaggerating for effect, but I had him making the team all along. Since the first thread about him.

I don't see Washington actually activated all that often. I doubt the Pats will have five active WRs week after week especially with Harrison and Seymour out on defense and a need for extra d-linemen and DBs on the active roster.

He could surprise people. But even with a horrible WRs last year, we only activated 4 WRs in many games. Now that we have WRs who could start if necessary from 1-4, I think it is even more likely we go into games with only four WRs.

His exact words were, "I like him too, but this is all moving too fast. I feel like I'm being smothered." Unquote.

Been pretty consistent in believing that this guy is a sleeper and will flourish in the system..

I know its not a huge factor for most people when critiquing WR's....

Washington's effort in Run Blocking during the pre-season was very impressive. A man of his size putting forth a superb effort in the running game is going to open up some long runs if/when Maroney busts it into the second level.

I saw him manhandle quite a few DB's. I am a big fan of Physical football, and a lot of WR's do not bring it.

First Time Poster Here

I remember reading an interview where BB basically said the position of Special Teams (i.e what position they back up ) didn't have a huge impact on if they made the team or not. I would imagine this would be the case in terms of who gets activated on the 45 man list as well.

From what I have read, and just reading your comments on his aggressive blocking, K. Washington has a good chance to get some serious playing time. I dont know much about Gaffney, but I think Washington is probably the better ST player. This alone might get him activated over Gaffney, especially if Moss, Stallworth, and Welker are all injury free and insync.

Personally I think it all depends on his ST play. If he exels you will see five wide recievers activated at the expense of Mays or one of the back up safties. Plus, Washington and Gaffney have a good chance of staying with the Pats longer term ( moss being older , and stallworth having a large backloaded contract )
