Si.coms' 'expert' Superbowl Picks

One out of five ain't bad.

Looks like SI feels that the Saints are the favorite, good give them all the pressure. Four of the five writers have the Saints getting to the Super Bowl, two have saying they will win it all. As long as it isn't the Colts.

Love Dr. Zs prediction!! The moron picks the Chahgahs over the Colts in the AFCCG only to have the Colts come back from the dead to lose the Superbowl!

Hows that happen, Doctor? Is this league really that Colt-favored????

LOL What a moron - exactly what is it he's supposed to be a doctor of anyway...

Bucky Brooks is delusional if he thinks Romo and Phillips could best Brady and Belichick if the Cowboys even managed to sniff a Superbowl...

Peter King cracks me up. I don't care who picks what, but he never has any real football reason to pick anything. He always picks what he thinks would make a fun story to cover. The Saints crowd going crazy in an NFC championship game sounds like fun, so he picks it. He likes the Peyton-over-Brady angle, so he picks it ... hilarious.

Also, how can the rest of the league be mad at the Patriots being annointed as champions by the media, when so few people in the media are picking them to win?

Lordy, just start playing the games already ...

The day Tony Romo beats the Pats in the Super Bowl (Bucky Brooks prediction) I'll know the Dynasty is dead.

The Cowboys are this year's massively overrated team. I've watched them all off-season down here in Texas, and I'm not even sure they're a playoff team. The offensive line still isn't strong, the defense is a step slow (aside from the awesome DeMarcus Ware, who is going to be a real stud this year), Roy Williams has gone from merely "overrated by a vast amount" to "nearly awful", and I have no confidence in Romo as a long term QB solution. Plus, TO looks like he's running a 4.8 40 right now, though that might just be off-season slacking. The Eagles should easily win that division over them if McNabb is healthy, and I think even the Redskins and their underrated defense could surpass them in the division if Jason Campbell has a good year. No way Dallas gets by Chicago, New Orleans, Seattle or Philly if they even make the playoffs, let alone win the Superbowl by knocking off the Pats, who would crush them by three touchdowns, easily.

Actually, 2 of 5 have us going, with only 1 picking us to win....

I bursted out laughing when I saw that.....good one Dr Zilch.

Peter King is the only analyst from both the ESPN and SI websites to pick the Colts to win the SB. ESPN is a lovefest for NE I believe, which is perfectly fine by me

I know Dr. Z is a tool. But did anyone stop to think that maybe the SI Webmaster messed up entering the stuff in?

Sure, but his talk of a scorefest seems to relate more to a colts defense than a chargers defense, no?

I cant see any NFC putting up bunches of points on a SD Defense.

Kings comments pissed me off. Manning edges Brady, its becoming habit forming.
How in the world do you predict something that happened ONCE to recur and call it habit forming? Especially when Manning has 1 ring and Brady 3?

I just hate when people make reaches like that. For example, the Red Sox are going to beat the Yankees in the ALCS this year. This happens like clockwork every 4 years.
It happened once 4 years ago, so a prediction that it will happen this year, concluded with it happens every 4 years, is just a stupid attempt to tout one team (or player) over the other.

King implied that Manning owns Brady by saying he will beat him 2 years in a row, when Brady won 3 of 4 prior to that. Awful journalism with an agenda.

the Saints are this years (and next years, and next years) Colts. The "Experts" will pick them until they actually win a Super Bowl.

so riddle me this...if Brady takes a train to the Super Bowl and leaves at 9 am travelling 200 mph, and Manning takes a bus to the Super bowl and leaves at 6 am travelling 80 mph, who gets there first?

Andy -
Manning has won 3 straight games against the Pats. Hopefully, we'll benefit from a healthy secondary when we play the Colts this time around and be able to return to the DOMINANCE that the Pats enjoyed prior to these last 3 games.

I;m sorry, but you have not included enough information to solve your math problem. We need to know where the train starts and where the bus starts.
If the train were in say, Mass., and the bus on the New Mexico border, Manning would get there first.:bricks:

Well, if the train goes there directly, then it would be Brady... in about 14 hours.... It would take about 22 hours for Manning to get there, without stopping... So Brady would have been there for 5 hours or so..

Assumptions: Bus started at the RCA Dome. Train Started in Boston.

Not that this has anything to do with the subject at hand......

I know. Why is the media spooging over Romo? The guy had a couple of decent games and he is the next coming of Bart Starr???
