There have been a ton of Moss articles, including one today by Jackie McMullen. In today's St. Paul Pioneer Press, Mark Craig gives an outside NE perspective.

Nice, balanced, interesting piece. It probably sums the whole thing up - all our hopes and anxieties - about as well as anything I've seen.

Yeah, imagine how nice life would be for fans of all teams if more media wrote articles designed to inform, not to look for attention with shock and controversy for the sake of controversy, or with an ax to grind.

How different this guy is from someone like Felger, who will say anything if it attracts attention and who confuses an adversarial relationship with objectivity, or Borges who will, well, you know.

Very good piece indeed.

A little OT, but the Star-Tribune may be the best small-market paper in America. I'm consistently impressed with the quality of their articles, and on the couple of occasions when I've dealt with S-T reporters their professionalism was impeccable. (Alas, that's very rare outside the big-name papers.)

Great article. Much better than the slop we are served.

As long as he is not a "Negative" personality on the team it will be OK either way. We can win with or without him.

I guess he's helped by not having any emotional investment with the Patriots whatever, which makes it easier for him to be a neutral observer. He's never been cut dead by BB in a press conference or whatever...

That said, even though others, such as those you mentioned, might have been, that's zero excuse for their undignified, emotional, lets-be-part-of-the-story approach to writing about the Patriots.

I thought the point of journalism in general was to remain objective. What it must be like to root for teams where the local press actually remains neutral, or heaven forbid, even likes the teams they are reporting on
