Sorry if this has already been posted but just thought some might be interested in PFT's pre-season football rankings

#2 will be posted this evening - and by default one will know who #1 is... it's down to the Colts and Patriots.

Quite frankly it's pointless excercise but I'm always interested in seeing how others perceive teams' strenghts and weaknesses. The Colts are the reigning Champs so its obvious they are top contenders, and we all know how much the Pats, one play away from the Super Bowl, added in the offseason - though playing without Seymour for 6 weeks let alone a season has to take some shine off any Patriots Super Bowl prediction - not to mention the loss of Rodney for 4 weeks and the up in the air situation at P.

So check back in this evening if anyone's interested... though I'm sure this thread will result in a lot of Mike Florio bashing given the amount of Patriots rumors on his pages these days... for my money Florio runs a good site that does what it says it does, with some witty and insightful prose

They have 2 NFC teams rated higher than most people would rate even one.

The Bears at #3 is a joke. I'm sticking to my guns saying the Bears don't make the playoffs.

Though the Eagles might not make it to the postseason in the AFC, they're more than good enough to win a division that's in a down cycle, and to make it as far as the NFC title game in a conference that has been generally performing only a step or two above the CFL.

For them not to win the division and by default, make the playoffs, then either Minn, GB or Detroit has to win that division....and I just don't see that happening.

My prediction is that NO teams from the NFC make the playoffs.

Midway through the season the NFL and all fans admit that all the teams are mediocre compared with the AFC and the conference is disbanded.

OK, it's a longshot, but I'll look like a genius if it happens.

I know it sounds stupid and I'm making a fool of myself. But with Grossman, just Benson now, and a defense which was less than dominant in the second half I just have this feeling. Who will win the division ? I don't know. Maybe GB. But I think Chicago will disappoint and open the door for someone.
