Should we feel sorry for Jets fans?

Well, they DO have to deal with the one and only Frank Moga.

I think that we are a compassionate group. We have had our ups and downs as Patriots fans. However, the NY Jets have had very little ups and an abundance of way downs.

Since the merger they have not been to a Super Bowl. They have only been to one AFCCG and lost (1998). They have won only 2 AFC East titles and one of those, 2002, was decided in the 3rd tie breaker with us.

On the other hand, we have have won 9 AFC East titles, been to 6 AFCCG's (winning 5), and 5 super Bowls, winning 3.

Those are some of the reasons we might feel sorry for Jets fans. But, there are more.

So, should we feel sorry for them?

No, it'll be more fun to beat you guys if you're not feeling sorry for us....

You Redsox fans probably know what I mean.

This was posted on usenet, when we were on our way to our second SB.

(from Klecko73 - no relation)

This is total bull****.

I am sick to my stomach after watching the Patsies beat the Ponies.
Do you all want to know why I am sick???
I am sick because the team I love, the New York Jets, sucks.
They not only sucked last year, but each of the 30 years I have been alive.
The team sucks; the owner sucks, the coach sucks, the front office sucks and the players suck.

And do you know how I know they suck??? Because that ****** fat bastard Bob Kraft Macaroni and Cheese's team is back in the Super Bowl again! THE FU*KIN PATSIES---the team that was the proverbial door mat of the ENTIRE FU*KIN NFL for years!!! With the ******ed red-white-blue uniforms with that fu*kin minuteman.

Well guess what those fu*kers are back in the Super Bowl for the third freaking time since 1996. And you know what we got??? Nothing, absolutely fu*kin nothing.
They don't deserve this---their fans are scum---Motherfu*kers the whole lot!!!

To rub salt in the wound, they are doing this with OUR fu*kin coaching staff. Those guys should be coaching the Jets right now. But Bellichicken took his freakin act to NE for more money---I hope that greedy SOB has something bad happen to him (I know I shouldnt wish this...).

When those bastards were with us, the only took us to the playoffs once!!! Now they are going to the Super Bowl twice in 3 years!!! And they are taking our fu*kin players with them---those freakin bastards like Bobby Hamilton who couldnt make a fu*kin tackle to save his life in New York---now have a second shot at the Super Bowl. Those bastards couldnt do **** in NY and now are "champions" in New England.

What do we got??? We got 40 year old QBs who whine about not being the #2 QB. We have a HOF running back who cant score tds. We have a revolving door of free agent WRs who suck. Linebackers who cant tackle. Fat defensive lineman who couldnt take up space in a bulimia ward. Cornerbacks who drop interceptions. QBs who throw interceptions. WRs who fumble and mumble. Lineman who hold and safeties who fold. OUR DRAFT picks are wastes of time and money. Everyone who we pass on goes to the Pro Bowl. Anyone who takes just sucks up fan revenue in a bloated contract. Anyone who we sign either ****s the bed or quits...anyone who is signed away from us goes to the HOF.

FU*K THEM ALL--- I HATE THEM AND I HATE THE JETS. Everyone else in the NFL always drafts impact players---we get fleeced again and again and again. We cant even sign freaking coaches because our coaches mismanagement of the clock occurs in the offseason. Maybe this year instead of drafting someone in the first round who sucks, we will pass like Minnesota has done the past two years.

ITS LIKE FU*KING GROUNDHOG DAY EVERYDAY AS A JET FAN----INSTEAD OF THOSE BASTARDS SONNY AND CHER SINGING----WE GET TO HERE THOSE FU*KING MORONS ON THE WFAN LAUGHING AT THE JETS LATEST FU*K-UPS.

I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS FU*ING TEAM. THEY SUCK ALL OF THEM.

And you know what is worse---we are the fools. There is nothing stupider than a Jet fan who believes every year, buys the tickets and the jerseys, only to get punched in the stomach at the end of the year---and we fu*king pay for this beating. How stupid our we????

How come we can't see any of this...instead we argue about who the fu*king backup tackle is going to be. We can't see the forest from the trees.

Who cares who are back-up tackle is. We suck and that position isnt going to win a Super Bowl for us. What the freakin hell does it matter.

OUR TEAM SUCKS and WE COME BACK FOR MORE EVERY FU*KING YEAR.
Its crazy...its insanity...its stupidity.

30 fu*king years of nothing...thanks Woody and the Jets.

They say the one-eyed man is king in the nation of the blind.
All of us our blind.
My question is when is the one-eyed man coming to save us???

(Thanks for reading me rant...I needed a temper tantrum after the Patsies won. Now please return to our regularly scheduled program.

I imagine this poor SOB was sucked in by the Mangini mirage, reality will begin to settle in this Sunday. This Jetsfan will show up and do the stupid cheer with Fireman Ed. I would love to hear him yelling at the radio on the way home from the beating the Jets will take this Sunday. :singing:

The JETS were a mess a couple of years ago, and pity was in order, but Mangini and Bradway have them on the right track and they will be the primary rival for the Patriots the next few years at least. The 2 OL picks in the first of last years draft were critical moves imo, as the only way they were going to be able to play with the Patriots was if they radically improved their OL, and Mangold and Ferguson achieved that for them.

Rivalries are always better when you hate the other team, and hate and pity are opposing sentiments. I'm glad they are in the game, otherwise it would make for a boring season. The opener is actually a big game for both teams and thats a great way to start a season as a fan.

Its Mangini and Tannenbaum, Bradway is nothing more then a scouting assistant now.

Other then that I agree...Good post!!

I feel no compassion for the Jets or their fans. For me, happiness is to see them crushed by the Patriots, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
When I got to "Crushed" the rest of the quote came to mind. GOOD post. :rocker:

I would feel empathy for them except that all the jets have to do is win a couple of games in a row and there winning the division, and going to the SB. according to the fans.

Wow, a sane Pats fan...amazing. In all seriousness, I've always been very respectful when coming here. It is a Pats board afterall. The reality is that the Pats have been the better team for the past 5 or so years. Unfortunately (from my point of view), that seems to be the case again this year. But, at some point the Jets will be better than the Pats. Obviously, I look forward to that day.

But, the comments here about Jets fans is hilarious to me. Honestly, I have not seen a more obnoxious, spoiled group of fans than Pats fans over the past few years. It's funny how short memories become with success. In any case, since this is your board, you'll obviously frolick the way you like. I'll try to always be respectful, but will definitely celebrate Jets success. It would be great to win this weekend, although I don't see it happening.

Wow, can you imagine what Klecko73 did after the Patriots won their third SB in four years, priceless stuff.

I love how Jets fans call Patriots fans "spoiled" and "bandwagon fans." Nothing like painting with a broad brush. I have been a fan since 1968 and followed this team through the bad times and the good times. Sure there are bandwagon fans (what winning team doesn't have them), but all the fans I know are far from that. Reminds me of loser Red Sox fans who used to call the Yankee fans spoiled and bandwagon fans and how "lucky' they were and how they bought WS titles. Notice the key word there is USED to call them that.

I also love how Jet fans dismiss what we did in the 1970's and 1980's and 1990's like it never happened and the Patriots have only been a good team since 2001; they forget about the 1976 team and how they got screwed vs the Raiders (perhaps the greatest Patriots team of all time), the 1985 team or the 1996 team, very good teams that went to the Super Bowl.

I also love how Jets fans whine about BB coming here, we stole their coach and raided their staff and players, yet when the Jets stole Parcells, our coaches and many of our players, I guess that was ok...................

Yup, that was real respectful.

In case anyone has missed it, I started this thread as satire. I don't feel sorry for Jets fans just like Fins fans never felt sorry for us.

And, I hope we continue to humiliate the Jets for many years to come.

The only thing that makes me feel sorry about Jets fans, is that they exist.

we dont ask for pitty, but thats right if we win on sunday its a "fluke", whatever lets you guys sleep at night.

Yup, that was real respectful.

How was that disrespectful? So any opinion outside of ones that support yours are disrespectful? I shouldn't paint with the broad brush and say "all" when discussing any fan base. But that was in direct response to many on this board saying "all Jets fans." But, at least on these message boards, I have found that Pats fans are over the top and can be obnoxious (not all obviously). It's one thing to be proud of your team, and you should be. It's another to consistently taunt and throw it in other people's faces (which many Pats fans seem to do).

My post was not disrespectful, just stating an opinion. Hey, I support the Jets to the end. Always want to see them do well, and probably skew reality from time to time based on my green tinted glasses. But, mostly I am realistic, and have always stated my opinions on what I see as reality, not delusional, completely and hopeful bias. I did (and still do) have high expectations for the Jets this year. But, based on what I saw this pre-season and knowing the deficiencies this team has have lessened my optimism.

I definitely hope for a good, competitive game on Sunday. But, I won't be surprised by a Pats win. If, somehow, the Jets win the game, I hope that the fans here don't come up with a bunch of excuses.

You Jets fans really continue to amaze me; comparing the Jets to the Patriots is like apples to hand grenades.

News flash; the Patriots are heavy favorites to go to and win the Super Bowl, your team has been picked by the same talking heads to come in second in the AFC East.

SO YES, if the Jets win on Sunday, it will be a fluke, your team is NOT THE BETTER TEAM, SO IF THEY WIN, IT'S A FLUKE. What part of that don't you get? A win by the Jets will be considered an upset; if that pisses you off, if it makes you feel like noone respects your team, too effin bad, deal with it and stop the whining.

Real world example; in 2004, the Red Sox were down 0-3 to the Yankees and the Yankees pulled the biggest choke job in the history of sports, blowing the series. The Red Sox were not the better team that year, the Yankees won the division, the Red Sox did not. It was a fluke and as a life long Red Sox fan, I can accept and deal with that. I was thrilled we won the World Series, but I didn't get all torked off when people said it was a fluke, because it was. We had zero, none, nill business winning that series just like the Jets have zero, none, nill business winning on Sunday.

Are we clear now girls?

I know the spirit in which the gentleman from Maine started this thread... but man it's screaming for needin' a karma thread now.

Is it me or do I find this post to be arrogant and ****y?

If Nut and others on here can remember those Rod Rust days and Hugh Millen taking snaps at center years ,WE were the ones to feel sorry for because the Patriots absolutely sucked from just about anywhere you looked on the team with few exceptions like Tippett and Morgan as top players ect:

There will come a day again, hopefully not in the near future but when we will once again be a sorry of a team and I don't think any of you want to hear how the good teams have pity on us,you won't want any either.

Put the shoe on the other foot

If I am taking this thread wrong than maybe I am not understanding the pity you guys want to show the Jets or other mediocre teams and their fans..I am sure they don't want your pity just like we didn't back in 1990 and won't in the future.

Yeah, a 6.5 point dog has never, ever, won a game. LMAO...God you wreak of homerism. It wouldn't be "a fluke." You could still say that the better team overall didn't win that day. As I already indicated, right now the Pats are the better team, no doubt in my mind. But, to say a win by the Jets would be a fluke is laughable. Especially in football, many things can happen.

The comparison to the Yanks/Sox series is really not a good one. That was 4 games in a row, and really quite remarkable. I still don't call that a fluke. As a Yanks fan it was upsetting, but I was still able to tip my cap to the Sox. Did I like it, absolutely not. Could I appreciate and respect the accomplishment, definitely. Again, a week 1 game in the NFL does not nearly carry the same weight as that event. But, somehow, I think a Jets win on Sunday would devestate you more than the Yanks losing that series did me. Hey, football is a game, played by human beings. Sh-t can happen. Obvioously, the better prepared team should win. The one who makes the fewest mistakes should win. The team that executes better should win. The team with more talent should win. But, many factors come in to play. Talent, I give the clear nod to the Pats. They'll have to play the game to see how the other variables play out.

Be it football or tiddlywinks, if the team is from NY, I only wish for defeat and disgrace for those teams!

Why are you guys so obsessed with the Jets? I mean if we are so bad then why even waste a minute of your time thinking about us? Why not think about the Colts, the team that beat you last year and then won the superbowl. Hasn't the Colts offense just put up tons of points and yards on you in recent years? Can we start some threads about this? I remember how upset all of you were, I guess it makes you feel better to put down someone else.

Feel sorry? Feel sorry? They're the ones who hope the Patriots jet crashes traveling to an away game. Feel sorry for them?..............Hell no. I like to watch them suffer.
