I think that we are a compassionate group. We have had our ups and downs as Patriots fans. However, the NY Jets have had very little ups and an abundance of way downs.

Since the merger they have not been to a Super Bowl. They have only been to one AFCCG and lost (1998). They have won only 2 AFC East titles and one of those, 2002, was decided in the 3rd tie breaker with us.

On the other hand, we have have won 9 AFC East titles, been to 6 AFCCG's (winning 5), and 5 super Bowls, winning 3.

Those are some of the reasons we might feel sorry for Jets fans. But, there are more.

So, should we feel sorry for them?

Pity, yes. Compassion, no.

I don't feel sorry for them. When they have their day in the sun (hopefully not for a long time), we're going to have to hear their fans going nuts about it for the whole offseason.

Another reason: they have to play their home game in a place called Giants Stadium.

I have a tendency to feel bad for passionate fans of bad teams: Lions, Cardinals, Bengals, Browns... However let's be honest here, New England was right among them until the Kraft/Parcells Era started up so every dog has their day. And if Jets fans weren't so damn boistrous I might wish them well more then I do. Kind of like Eagles fans, I respect the team, hate the fans...and therefore usually root against them.

I feel no compassion for the Jets or their fans. For me, happiness is to see them crushed by the Patriots, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

Don't forget we snatched Vince Lombardi II from them. Except that didn't quite realize it at the time...

Not until we beat them on Sunday.

No we don't need to feel sorry for them. According to Michael Holley they will win on Sunday so they should feel pretty good about themselves for awhile.

This has been the face of the fanchise for so many years.

I have found over the years that jet fans, ESPECIALLY the passionate ones, are often totally deluded and relatively often complete A-holes. So no, as a general rule, I do not feel compassion b/c most of them don't deserve it AT ALL. I don't mind phin fans NEARLY as much as jet fans.

Michael Holley picked the jets? LOL! Puh-lease. I thought that guy was halfway decent - what is he smoking?

Jets and Dolphins fans feel very good about themselves March through August. It's starting in September that they withdraw into a shell. Let 'em talk. They still have a couple days to brag about what they will do.

FWIW, you missed the one other time they were in the AFCCG, it was in 1983 vs the Doofins on a rain soaked field in the Orange Bowl and the Jets lost.

I've never seen a more pathetic group of sad sacks as Jets fans. They join the Browns, Texans and Jags as the only other AFC team not to appear in a Super Bowl since the merger as you pointed out, and the comical part is those three have an excuse, all being expansion teams, what is the Jets excuse?

The Jets stole Parcells away and it got them to the AFCCG, where they lost; we stole Belichick away and it got us not one, not two but THREE SB wins, just another example of the Jets just being the Jets.

Their fans for the most part are annoying, but I find the annoying ones to be the younger ones as they don't have a clue yet that their team is doomed to failure. The older fans are less annoying because they know better, they know the Jets are pathetic.

Their women, reason 101 to feel sorry for pathetic New York Jets fans.

You are right. They did play the Fins in 83. so that makes them 0-2.
