At the begining of last year the majority of people voted for asante. I am sure that has changed by now.

Right now i believe Matt Light is the biggest liability. Hopefully the addition of K. Brady will mask the trouble he is given by better than average D Ends.

I hate to say it and I am sure many won't like to hear it but i think Bruschi is up there in the running for weakest link. He is very smart and plays the game real well but his lack of speed really hurts the defense. The chargers playoff game is a great example of this. If I were the jets i would run routes to the RB's over the middle all day.

Thoughts?

EUGENE WILSON.

James Sanders.

James Sanders.

Really? I feel Sanders is a very good player who can showcase his abilities when given the chance. I guess we will see over the next few weeks.:)

Sanders and Light are both good guesses.
I like Light, but I'm thinking his replacement gets drafted on the first day next year.

If this is true, and it isn't unreasonable, then we are doing pretty darn good aren't we?

Light?!? Not a chance. Not ahead of Kaczur. But I think our weakest, and probably three of the weakest five, is in the secondary. Toss up between Wilson and Sanders.

Also, unless Bruschi shows a resurgence, we need to start thinking about him in the bottom quartile of the roster.

Tom Brady - the guy can't bench to save his life.

i wasn't accounting for depth--i viewed the question as--what position, among the starters, can we reasonable expect to upgrade in the next offseason?

ILB and S. Thomas is (presumably) solid at his spot. But I´d love to see a young stallion step in and push Bruschi down the depth chart. Harrison is in his sunset years, and Wilson is in his contract year. Sanders seems to have the confidence of the coaching staff, but we could use a headpopping S to claim the spot for a decade. Maybe thats Meriweather, but its hard to say till we´ve seen him on the field.

I think that is sad people think that Matt Light is the weakest link over guys like Nick Kaczur, Eugene Wilson and James Sanders...

While I don't agree that Light is the weakest link, there also is the fact that his position is more important generally than RT, or even safety. He is up against the other team's best pass rusher all game and has Brady's backside. He needs to play very well or it will be noticed and he will be scrutinized.

As for the question of the thread, I will say Eugene Wilson, particularly without Harrison for the first games. He is not a leader, period, and I'm really concerned about how he'll play without Rodney's veteran leadership back there.

I think it is sad that he seems to get physically dominated two out of every three games.

My "top" 3 are:

Sanders due to experience ('though he's made a big jump)
Bruschi due to age
Wilson due to what he's been like w/o Rodney the last couple years

For just this week I'm hoping it's not #22 after missing the preseason.

Right Tackle worries me.
