Marquand Manuel...Would you trade for him?

With everything that has happened to Harrison and the uncertain status of Wilson would you trade for Manuel?

I think the combination of Sanders and Meriweather will be enough to offest the loss for 4 weeks.
But as always in BB we trust!

I'm not sure Meriweather is ready to start just yet. He seemed to struggle a bit in coverage on Friday. Nothing that isn't correctable over time, but I donj't know if he is ready. I would expect Andrews or Gay to start at the beginning of the season if Wilson isn't ready to go.

Wilson kind of limped off the field during the Carolina game and hasn't been seen since.

He seemed to pull up lame in the Carolina game on the long touchdown. Not positive, but I'm pretty sure he has missed practice since then.

We torched Manuel last year when we played the Pack. I'd be shocked if we traded for a journeyman SS.

You take out Harrison and Wilson and your solid secondary just got very weak...

We don't know what is going on with Wilson. We know that Harrison should be back for week 5. Sanders is capable, but Meriweather is a big question mark. So would putting either Andrews or Gay back there. They've never lined up with Sanders like that... Well, Andrews might have...

Anyways, that's a lot of inexperience you'd be relying upon for a pretty critical part of the defense.

Most of the reports have indicated that Wilson's injury doesn't seem to be too major. Maybe it is speculating or some inside information. I think him not practicing last week is not a good indicator to determine whether he will be out the opening game since he would have been held out for precautionary measures for a hang nail since none of the starters played on Thursday.

Marquand Manuel was released by the Pack today so the trade topic is moot.

I doubt they bring him for free, even.

I'm a Packer fan and I was just looking over your message board to see what was up with Randy Moss and I saw this thread.

1) Marquand Manuel sucks, you don't want him. He is horrible in deep coverage and was the main cause for many long pass plays on the Packers defense last season.

2) Manuel never was the Packers best safety. Nick Collins has been a solid starter since Sharper left and he's a far better safety than Manuel. Manuel was booted from the Packers due to excellent play in the pre season by second year player Atari Bigby.

Manuel was the main reason your team picked apart the Packers secondary last season. You don't want him.

Anyway, good luck this season.

Thanks Packer Fan, not really a surprise, NFL teams don't cut good players, they cut marginal backups.

Every Pack fan on footballoutsiders is cheering that he is gone. He is *far* from their best safety. From everything that I have read, he was the main reason that the Pack struggle vs. the pass last year.
