NY Daily News' Rich Cimini takes SI report out of context, makes up BB quote (merged)

I really doubt this crap. I think this is an attempt from the New York media to rally the Jets. Belichick NEVER slams any coach or player in public. Complete garbage I'd bet.

The Jets' season opener against the Patriots still is eight days away, but the first salvo already has been fired. It's from an unlikely source: Bill Belichick, who usually is careful about not providing bulletin-board fodder to the opponent.

Belichick takes aim at safety Kerry Rhodes, ripping one of the Jets' best players in the current issue of Sports Illustrated. In a story that ranks the top 500 players in the NFL, Belichick offers his take on the rankings of Rhodes (29th) and Bills tackle Jason Peters (39th).

"Neither of those guys could make my team," Belichick told the magazine.

Cimini wrote "Belichick told the magazine." Is there any link from the magazine? If Cimini wrote that BB told it to "the magazine" then that means it was published in the magazine.

Seriously, can anyone honestly see BB saying this to any reporter on the record? I say theres no chance this quote is in actual text online, someone should find it or this Cimini tool should provide some evidence atleast.

Cimini should be fired for doing what he did, anyone else agree? He took that WAY out of context, that was a joke from King. Not a direct real quote. What a joke the Jets are.

Wow! Cimini is an idiot! If you read the article, you clearly see that Belichick never said the quote. King used a dummy quote to show how much he convictions in his picks. I can't believe Cimini woould write and article and the fact checkers would allow the article to go to print without actually rereading the article to see that he got it wrong.

He didn't make that comment. That's the point. Peter King put that line in his article as pun of some sort and that moron of a reporter is putting it out there as if BB called and actually said that to Peter King. I bet Peter King ain't to happy right now.
