With Rodney suspended, does he count against the Roster? Or can the Pats carry someone else for the 4 weeks?

Nope, suspended players don't count against the roster once the suspension starts.. So I'm assuming it starts this weekend, the true beginning of "Week 1."

So all this means is there will be one less player cut tomorrow. And it probably means Mel Mitchell will be sticking around.

The last time a Pats player was suspended, as we all remember, is 2003 with Mike Cloud. Sammy Morris was suspended the first 4 games of 2006 with the Dolphins because of 'roids. Rodney also has another suspension or two on his resume. And then there's Todd Sauerbrun and his 'roids...

So, Rashad Baker could get a reprieve...Though short lived...

Yeah, Tom Casale's boy.

It depends on what happens with Wesley though, and more indirectly, James.

Since Baker hasn't been playing or practicing recently, I'd be inclined to release him and re-sign him once he's healthy enough to practice.

I was expecting Mitchell to stick, in Rodney's place I'd be more inclined to see Wesley or James stick for more depth at CB. Reiss and I both had 5 Safeties plus Meriweather at CB, so CB remains the weak spot in my mind.
