Don Banks IMO is one of the better sports writers on the internet who writes for SI and I can agree with just about most of his 2007 NFL previews and prognostications .....

A very well thought out column and study of each team,However I can't see Pittsburgh over Cincy for 2nd place in the AFC North and Arizona on the bottom in the NFC West

Having lived in New Orleans for a number of years(moved back to DFW via Katrina)-the Saints going to the Super Bowl would be the best thing for the city, IMHO.

For the most part, the NFC is, again, very weak this year. Philly can't stop the run, Dallas has a weak secondary, Carolina is in free-fall, Chicago will be exposed w/ tougher schedule, Tampa is too old, as is Seattle, SF made weak upgrades despite ALOT of sal cap space, Giants are waiting on Cowher, etc.

I actually kind of like the Saints as a team,They really have no loudmouths,Are extremely well coached by a guy that I think is the next great coach in this league and they have a very solid young foundation for the future.

I would LOVE to see the Pats and NO go at it in February

IMO New Orleans would really be the only tough challenge for NE from the NFC and I think those 'tough down to the wire' SBs are the best.

If it had been New Orleans and not Chicago in last years SB - Pay-a-ton might have still been looking for a ring.

I can't imagine where he came up with the 3 point spread from -:)

New Orleans is a nice story but I don't think the team is actually that good. The offense can be excellent but that defense is weak. Anytime they played a decent AFC team they were crushed. I don't see them recreating the magic they had last year.

They have an opportunity to make a bold statement in 8 days that could launch a very successful season. We shall see then . . .
