If possible can this not turn into a flame piss fest and actually just include good football talk??

I say Maroony will have about 1200-1300 yards, possibly 10-11 TD's this year

Addai I say around the same range, maybe a little higher (1300-1500 yds) And about 12-14 TD's.

I'm not sure of how good a pass catcher Maroony is so I can't get a good prediction on his yardage but I think Addai should have 20-30 receptions and just maybe a couple recieving TD's. Who knows with the yardage

Who the hell is "Maroony?"

okay slight spelling error, is there a way to edit thread titles on this forum?

I'd say those are pretty good predictions...can't really argue with them. Maroney is a very good good pass catcher, I'd certaintly rate him higher than Addai on that end.

Love the colts fans who constantly talk about MARONEY but dont know how to spell his name correctly.

I know, god forbid I mispell a players name, especially one that doesn't even play for my team

looks like it took...exactly 2 posts to turn into what I thought it would in the first sentence, no football related replies either

This board has more football discussion on it then indystar or any of those other boards where they are obsessed with all things pats. You see those zone blocking breakdowns? There are not many football replies since the thread is brand new. Maybe if you spelled his name correctly people would not have called you out on it.

How can you take someone seriously that cannot even spell the name correctly of the person whom he is talking about? On a pats board no less. If you dont know how to spell his name you prob dont watch him much. NFL.com is your friend, friend.

Wasn't 'MAROONY' the boss on I love Lucy?

I don't see a maroony on the roster so it must be in reference to that vintage sitcom ;)

I don't really see the point in guessing. I will say two things, though :

1) I think Maroney is the better RB and the one I'd prefer to have. Whether the numbers show it is irrelevant to me based on the different personnel and goals of the offenses.

2) I expect the Colts, as a team, to run for less yards this year and to throw for more as they have a better #3 WR and also a lesser defense which should give up even more points.

I don't know. I am beginning to wonder about Addai and how well he will rush this year. Well, not him, but the o-line and how they will block for him. Losing Tarik Glenn hasn't seemed to hurt the passing game all that much, but it seems to affected the Colts' running game far more. Addai has done little this preseason.

Game one he had two carried for 5 yards (no big deal, it is the game where starters play a series or two). In game 2, he rushed seven times for 24 yards (or a little over 3 yards a carry) and one TD. On Saturday night he rushed five times for 18 yards. So in total, he has rushed 14 times for 47 yards and one TD this preseason.

It isn't time to raise the red flags, but I really am beginning to doubt the Colts will have a great running game this year. I can see with the loss of Glenn forcing Addai to have similiar numbers as last year even with an increased role.

Funny because I've seen many fans (not gonna say who in particular) of "certain" teams who can't tell the difference between PAYton and PEYton

I'm glad you have found the unique skill of judging somebodies football knowledge based off of their spelling. I can pretty much guarantee every Bengals fan can spell TJ "Whosyourmama" names right., now does that mean they don't watch him very much. Hell I couls barely spell Montea Reagors name right and I probably messed it up there

Maybe you should judge somebodies football knowledge from the information they know and not their spelling?? Now i quick trip to NFL.com could have solved this before hand I agree but I have one too many tabs open on firefox as it is

Addai will have better numbers, but the RB depth for the colts is horrible behind Addai. I am not saying Addai is better but he will have more carries, and more yards. They seem to be pretty even. I would guess if Maroney was in Indy he would have more yards then in NE, because lack of depth behind him, so he wouldn't share the load, and the best offensive line.

Chill out bro. I was giving you a hard time for spelling Maroney wrong. He happens to be my fav player so I was giving you some ribbing.

If you check out the post I edited it after you had already qouted it to make it a bit less sarcastic. Only sarcastic, instead of veryyy sarcastic.

If you are here to talk football welcome. I had to give you some S*hit for spelling his name wrong. I am sure I would get the same on a colts board if I asked about anthney gonzawlexz ; )

The average NFL fan is very simple minded. They think that because Addai had 1000 yards with another RB getting a lot of touches, he will be a huge star. I am one of the few people who disagree. In the 2 games where the Pats played the Colts last year, Addai started the game OK but then became fairly ineffective. As soon as that happened, they brought in Rhodes who changed the pace of the game and totally threw off the defense. Then the defense was off-balance, they brought Addai back in and he did well against a D on it's heels. I think a huge amount of Addai's effectiveness can be credited to Rhodes, and it should be very interesting seeing what he does with no change of pace.

Is this the Grammar study thread?

Can't you say the same thing about Maroney? He had Dillion to split carries with and still couldn't finish the season.

Indy has a great system and Addai is a great fit for what they do. Mark him down for 1200-1400 yards and 25-35 receptions. When he gets tired they will just throw in a run of the mill JAG like Rhodes to handle a few carries. If teams try to keep an extra defender in against the run Manning will shred them alive.

Boomer - Your predictions are pretty much right on, the TD numbers seem a little high but nice job.

How many kicks did Joe return?

Mispelling is okay. Mispelling it on purpose and then acting like a little girl when people call you on it is strictly prohibited.
