Not something that wasn't to be expected coming from Samuel's camp, but might as well be reported here.

I haven't read it yet, but you realize this guy is the PR master of the organization.

Right after the Super Bowl he brings a truckload of ice up to Alaska to just to sharpen his salesmanship skills.

I actually love this guy, I'd hire him in a second.

Have we all forgotton how much of a physical speciman Tebucky was. Being in shape doesn't mean you can play football in the Patriots system. Asante will have to relearn how to play in the secondary with Rodney and Eugene - out most of last year and Adalius Thomas. Its the defensive TEAM performace that matters not Asante's .

Asante will have to relearn how to play in the secondary with Rodney and Eugene - out most of last year and Adalius Thomas. Its the defensive TEAM performace that matters not Asante's .

I don't think the learning curve at CB is that steep, especially when you have started for several years. If anything he will benefit from the improved front seven.

In reality Gay will be on the IR before game 1 (it would be so nice he if could stay on the field for the whole season...). If Gay performs ok I wonder if the Patriots would try to extend him, maybe 4 years, $12M, 3 up front. It would give the protection in 08 as they are very thin at CB after this season. Off the top of my head I think only these players are under contract in 08:
- Hobbs, Richardson (if he makes the team or PS), Eddie Jackson

I will be surprised if Samuel doesn't see some action against the Jets and very surprised if he doesn't start the Chargers game.

I agree for the most part..... Felger goes further saying that the 2 a days and other team things are so so important..saying he is 31 days behind schedule. I will not go that far..maybe 2 weeks behind. He does have to get into synch with the team; no way will this be a "magic" year like last year. THAT is my prediction and I think anyone who believes in this "magic" year is smoking something quite strong. Both felger and Romase also think he could very easily end up with an injury.

He hasn't done a darn thing in nine months. Yeah, he hasn't played football with ANYBODY in a while.

So clearly he won't just magically be at 100%.

So far he has given us about half a year of stellar play and three and a half years of average play.

The problem with missing training camp is you are going from 0% to 100% in a heartbeat, instead of going to 50% in practice and then 70% in preseason games, and then 100% when you are really ready.

For somebody with lots of natural talent, that might be okay. For slightly above average type talents like Asante who depend on lots of coaching and a specific system to showcase their strengths and hide their weaknesses, it is going to be a rather sudden transition.

Hopefully, Gay can hold himself together for a while this year.

The only reason he got 10 picks last year is because he was put in the right place by the mastermind BB He has excelled for this reason,don't get me wrong he is good but not great,we definately are an improved team with him active but we probably don't even need a defense this year with the amount of points that our OFFENSE is going to be putting up LOL
