Even though they are a bit up in age I will still take our experienced big game linebackers of Seau, Bruschi and Vrabel over all others in our division except maybe Jonathan Vilma and Zach Thomas (also up there in age a bit).

Vrabel, Colvin, Thomas aren't that old. They may not be young but they aren't old - they're in their prime.

Yes, so far, the D has looked REALLY bad. I look forward to the season. This D is arguably more talented than it ever has been, but we'll have to see. And then Prisco will make some otheroutlandish claim and we'll move forward.

I like how, in a chart accompanying the same article, they rank the offenses and defenses from last year. NE points allowed: #2.

Prisco is making way too much of one game. Yes the D lost that game last year. They were opposed by the best offense in the league and overcome by injuries (unless Alexander actually belonged in that game). It's not an excuse for why they lost, but instead a reason why that game is a poor predicative tool.

Basically, pick an adjective: lazy, shortsighted, disingenuous, reactionary. They all fit.

Pete "the hack" Prisco should not be allowed to waist ink. I know CHFF has called him a hack.But even before I read their take on him I never thought he was much of an expert. Many of the things he came out with just never made sense. He's like Bogus I don't pay attention to him.

Great players and real men don't make excuses of why the Colts made that dramatic comeback,The guys took it upon themselves to just acknowledge that they were outplayed in the 2nd half and no excuse like the virus or flu epidemic will have ever came out of a players mouth here in NE,nor was the players using 'the stadium was excessively hot' excuse either.

Geeee, I wonder if he knows that the Colts won the Super Bowl with the League's Worst Run-D, and that We set the franchise record last year for Fewest Points allowed in Franchise History.


The REAL reasons why we lost & gave up 32 points in the 2nd half is:

1) Our D. was Decimated by Injuries.

2) Peyton Manning and the Colts O. (2 much for our 2nd stringers).

3) RCA Dome (aka the Steambath).

4) Reche Caldwell (aka Da Blind Bat).

5) Poor Officiating (Nice Job Guys).

That guy's consistently unbelievable.

Last year, the Pats had the top D-Line in the league and a criminally-underrated secondary despite key injuries. The LB corps played great until Junior got hurt. Now, they've added the top LB on the market, a blue-chip S/CB, and everybody's healthy. There's no question that they have a better D now than they did last year when they were #2 in the freakin' NFL.

And they're both penciled in as starters this year. The Patriots did sign Adalius Thomas as a high-priced free agent to help, but he's 30 -- and looks like he weighs 285, not exactly speed weight.

Yeah, Pete, go by how heavy he looks as opposed to how fast he obviously is.
