The last paragraph of this article is pretty funny.

There's a flaw in the "logic", actually, but I chuckled for quite a while before I remembered it.

Another well-written Globe piece with questionable premise and nothing to say. Did it ever cross her mind that Bridget tricked Brady into that pregnancy? Of course, don't let that possibility get in the way of an opportunity to pander ...

You might as well talk about the "questionable premise" of a Dilbert strip. It's a humor column! Come on, Tunescribe, tell me you were joking....

Yes, yes, yes, I know it's a humor column. Humor at the expense of the Patriots/Brady, naturally. Tell me: When was the last time you read ANYTHING in the Globe outside the sports section that wasn't biased against this team? Two that come quickly to mind was that woman who blasted Bruschi during his comeback from the stroke, and the guy who eviscerated BB for shoving aside the photographer who carelessly backed into him. Just once I'd like to see someone take a different approach, but with the anti-football culture that permeates the Globe staff I'm not holding my breath.

Biased against the Patriots? The column had next to nothing to do with the Patriots. IT WAS ABOUT DESIGNER BIBS. The writer made it perfectly clear in the opening paragraph that she was responding to a gossipy item in the Globe about couture baby gear. There's no earthly reason to think she has a bias against the Patriots--heck, she doesn't even claim to have ever watched a football game!

There's a standard genre in the baby-media business, exemplified by Vicki Iovine's "Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" series. It's the commiserating, ain't-reality-a-b!itch-sister humorous essay. Ms. Darnton obviously thought she had a ripe opportunity in the crazy idea of a Gucci bib. (What's next, cashmere toilet paper? Bibs are for spitting up on.) So she whipped up a little column about how danged annoying skinny chicks in thongs are when you're sweating through your ninth month of pregnancy. Football had nothing to do with it.

Normally I agree with Tune about the Globe's never-ending monomaniacal bias against all things Patriots, but in this instance it was just a humor column. It is what it is.

I get it! Heavens. And keeping in mind this was intended as a humor piece: How do you explain the last paragraph if this absolutely has nothing to do wtih Brady/Patriots/football? The message is: Brady's bad for "abandoning" poor pregnant Bridget for supermodel Giselle. Get revenge by naming baby Peyton. Duh.

You beat me to it and pretty damn funny at that.

That was the funniest part!

If you didn't get a chuckle out of that last paragraph, your sense of humor is broken. I'll bet even TB smiled, although perhaps ruefully.

OK, it's a football article. :)

Seriously, I've blathered on about this far too much already. If the column bugs you, it bugs you.

So how about that final DL cut? Think there's any room for Rashad Moore?

No, I want to talk more about envious feminist twits bashing Tom Brady in the name of "humor." :bricks: :enranged: :scared:

Nah, he'll make way for an extra LB, I reckon. We can look forward to a couple more 0-7 fronts, like they did in the SB against Philly (if I recall).
