Kraft answers nun’s prayers
01:00 AM EDT on Sunday, August 26, 2007

BARRINGTON — If ever there was a “Sunday story,” this is it.

Actually, the story begins with another story that appeared in The Sunday Journal last month about a group of Carmelite nuns who included in their daily prayers their favorite football team, the New England Patriots, and the team owner, Robert Kraft.

A friend of the nuns sent a copy of that story to Kraft, who then sent…well, let Sister Susan Lumb tell it:

“One morning,” she said, “I was called to the front door of the monastery to see a man that I was told was from the Patriots organization. I thought it was a joke, that a friend was pulling my leg.”

It was no joke.

“The man had been sent to deliver six tickets, along with a ‘VIP’ parking pass, to the Tennessee game,” she said.

...

Nuns always pull that stuff. Nice and all, but they just wanted free tickets like everybody else.

Hey, I had them for eight years, I've got a right.:D

Why do I have a feeling that a certain poster on this forum will complain that Kraft gave them lousy seats????????

I was thinking the same exact thing...

I'm sure those were the seats he normally gives to his rabbi, but, you know, Friday night game ... :D

Nice gesture by Kraft. :D

As the Curly Haired Boy from the Globe might say, this was a 'Hail Mary' by the profit maximizer Kraft. A pre-season game priced at mid-season rates, Kraft was only trying to wine and dine the nuns to keep the faith with the large Catholic New England fan base. Why else would Sister Normagene mention 'Bingo' Brown? Where does it end? Bringing in Priest Holmes for a physical? Resigning Michael Bishop? Scheduling the Arizona Cardinals or the New Orleans Saints for an annual pre-season game?

There's no doubt . . . the nun story is black and white. This publicity stunt was Kraft kneeling at the altar of profits. For Patriot Nation, this could be the 'Curse of the Kraftino'.

You don't think he was trying to hit on the sisters, do you?

Robert Kraft = class! :rocker:

Well, that keeps both sides of the Cat household very happy. (Insert deity of choice, or other explanation for creation of world, here) is great. :rocker:

Bob is a really good bloke. In fact, I would like to go on record as saying that I think he is really, really nice and generous. I REALLY like him. (It's worth a try)

Great post. :D

Bob Kraft is a class owner. I can't wait to see the HOF that is being built at Patriots Place.

It's really too bad that some so called Patriots fans can't appreciate what a great owner he is. If they weren't so sick with hate, you might even feel sorry for them.

When I 1st read the thread title I wondered just how he answered thier prayers.

It'll all be revealed in my new book "Jesus Was a Sixth Round Draft Pick".:D

Although I heard from reliable sources that the nun's stay was cut short when they requested a private meeting with Coach Belichick to discuss the merits of commandments #6 and #10.

You are a bad person :)

He just referred them to Commandment #1, "thou shall not lose". :rocker:
