The guy's been injured more than healthy.

With the extremely tight competition in camp for roster spots is there any chance this human shield doesn't make the cut? Would the Pats brass keep Rivers over Brady?

No. Kyle Brady is Belichick's binky. :D

Next question.

Binky? I take it this is a good thing if you are K Brady but can you perhaps enlighten this aged feller as to what the heck a binky is please ..... and thanks .... I think

Here: a guy that Belichick will support no matter what.

I think Belichick would rather cut Dean Pees than cut K.Brady. :p

Brady, Seymour, Warren and Moss are all being kept on thr shelf on purpose. These are guys that don't need the extra practice and are being kept fresh for when the real games begin.

Kyle Brady is almost 40, but will be a huge part of our offense from the blocking perspective. Might as well keep them old legs under wraps.

I love the addition of this guy. Tom's gonna have a lot more time to throw the ball.

if we knew anything more about his injury other than that he's old, then we'd be able to say something. But as always we have very little to work with. I say the giant stays.

Really? Why is that?

I'm curious about this, when did K Brady become BB's best friend. I dont think he has ever coached K.Brady before and Brady has done nothing since he was signed (injury).

Disagree w/Moss. He can use all the reps he can get with TB.

he is supposed to be replacing Graham as the team's impressive and reliable blocker. Who else would serve that role? I doubt Rivers is held in that esteem. And Watson's...working on that.

Rivers did a fantastic job blocking last night and has been at least solid in the games he's played.

I thought he was with the Jests when BB and BP were there. I could be mistaken.
PS Alas, the Jets drafted him, and Im pretty sure he remained there under BB.

I'm curious to see if getting K. Brady on the field affects formation preferences in any way. Initially, one would think no, but I'm sort of perplexed at the lack of 2 TE sets.
We used that formation a lot last year, but not so far this year.
I sthis a change in philosiphy? Are we going to use more "standard" formations (2 wr, 1 TE)?

BB was the Jets Asst HC/secondary coach from 1997-1999, K. Brady was with the Jets from 1995-1999. K. Brady is no rookie, there is plenty of evidence out there on what he can do and what a tremendous job he does blocking. Maybe he's done nothing in TC but he did participate in OTA's over the offseason. Assante has not participated in TC at all or played in pre-season games so far but we won't cut him either.

I heard we're going with the rare 6 WR formation this year.

Actually, part of it was that Belichick was basically dead set on drafting Brady when he was HC in Cleveland--and was absolutely shocked when the JEST grabbed him just ahead of them. I suspect that he's been drafting all those TEs in the hopes that he might find another one. :)

Yep you are correct, Brady played 2 years with BB in NYJ.

Brady is supposed to be a better blocker than Daniel Graham. With his size and blocking abilities it will be like having an extra tackle on the O-line. He will also be a nice red zone target for # 12.

I thought those were Vrabels roles!? :D
