Re: For those who missed Rodney's hit on Vince Young...

After seeing the hit on Brady, why on earth wasn't a penalty called for leading with the helmet on a QB????

That was clearcut helmet to helmet.

I thought the same thing when I saw it.

Re: For those who missed Rodney's hit on Vince Young...

Right, they shouldn't make best hit videos. Lets just close our eyes, cover our ears and pretend football isn't a violent port.

I decided to post that comment even knowing full well I would get responses like this.

If you read my post again, you'll find that I was not objecting AT ALL to the fact that the video celebrated big, violent hits that cause big plays. Many of the hits in the video caused fumbles, etc., and deserve their highlight status. What I thought was creepy was the decision to make room in a very brief, tightly edited highlight reel for extra post-play footage that celebrated not the hit but the ensuing injury, to musical accompaniment.

Anyway, nice to see Rodney back to being Rodney!

Nice illustration! I'm leaning toward clean hit, though. Close, but clean.

we love rodney here in san diego and wish we still had him. great hit, classic harrison.

Re: For those who missed Rodney's hit on Vince Young...

The #1 hit should have been flagged, he specifically smacked into the eagle with his helmet first.

I don't think so... you can't keep your head away from a player when you hit him, and it doesn't look like he was driving his helment into Tom, intentionally or otherwise. Clean hit.

That's what I thought. Seemed pretty questionable.

Also, no way should a block on an unsuspecting kicker trump a sack that flattens a quarterback for selection as the "top hit".

Just a heads up here--the merge joined threads on two different videos:

Thanks, confused me at first too.
