good work on the story. Kight has no shot. Did you leave that on his dad's answering machine - if so, I think he know why he didn't call back. ;)

That's pretty funny. :singing: He has the same odds of making the team as you do of winning the Patriot Fantasy league.....No Shot.

Interesting to get a look at life on the bubble...5 teams in 3 years, ugh.

As fans we tend to think of the practice squad as a waiting room, with its value to players being the opportunity to train and improve and get a shot at a "job." But the PS is a job. 256 young men are earning a nice living (latest figures I saw were $4,350 per week, $73,950 per year plus per diem, etc.) as professional athletes. That's a significant accomplishment, even if an NFL roster spot never materializes. I'd be curious to learn more about life on the PS. No pressure of course, Shalise. ;)

Welcome Shalise. I enjoy your work on the blog as well.

Just wanted to say thanks for the compliment. It didn't turn out how I wanted it to (Kelvin's dad didn't call me back in time, which led to holes in the story), but he's a very good-natured kid and a hard worker.

Never too early for smack. Looking forward to draft night.

Although i don't think this distinction is enough to make the roster ...
and although Bam is my sentimental favorite, as he is many others' ...
i judge that, in the coaches' eyes, KK is ahead of Bam on the mythical depth chart.

Hey all -- thanks for reading and the nice words :)

That's actually a good story idea for later in the season, patchick, talking to a lot of the practice-squad guys. For some of them -- Billy Yates comes to mind -- it definitely works out, but for others, it seems like a big tease: to be so close, but yet so far...

I'm always around the site (I like to see what y'all are talking about and find it to be refreshingly civil for the most part), but have been hesitant to post to this point.

Yes you do a fine job there at ProJo which I pass on to my many fellow Patriots fans here becauseyou do some indepth stuff at times that no other boston area reporter does as good.

Being a female columnist on the area of football is unique in this area and you do a fine job, keep it up!

Just because you called Bulluck to account in the blog doesn't mean you can be tossing words like "civil" around now! :snob:
