OK, here's the list of Patriots receivers who have had the entire training camp to work on/develop/improve their rapport with Tom Brady:

Gaffney --- No wait, he's injured now.

Troy --- Oops, PUP.

Moss --- Hamstring injury or something. No games yet. Not many practices.

Stallworth --- Hang on, he missed the 1st half of camp. 1 week here so far.

D. Thomas --- Never mind, that was last year that he played.

K. Brady --- Hold it. He's injured.

Watson --- Come to think of it, he's missed time too.

Welker --- OK, we have one!

Caldwell --- Maybe even two?

YIKES! Let's not be too quick to predict we'll score 38 points a game. Unless Maroney runs wild! Wait a minute....

BAD NEWS FOR BRONCOS

The primary objective of the preseason is, in our opinion, to avoid injuries.

And if that's the real test for the games that aren't real, the Denver Broncos failed on Saturday against the Cowboys, when defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban was lost for the season with a ruptured Achilles' tendon, and running back Travis Henry went down with a knee injury that will require an MRI on Sunday. Henry is believed to have a sprained MCL; such an injury heals without surgery, but requires rest. His availability for the start of the regular season could be in doubt.

At least we know our running back is not injured to the point that he might not return, and those other guys will be back in due time. Yes Brady and the boys have to get it together. They need practice time. What good will that practice time do, if all of them end up on IR because they went back on the field before they recovered from their injuries?

Moss was there for most of the TC. You should relax a little! They will have plenty of time to work on timing throughout the season, they do have practices between games you know...

For all we know, he might not be injured at all (or they want to be conservative post-surgery) and they're simply taking the LT approach of holding him out of pre-season to minimize/eliminate the risk of injury, as you cited in the post with T. Henry and Ekuban....

I definitely don't recommend going back to practice before they are ready. I'm just commenting on how many injuries we've had at receiver.

There's sort of a catch-22 here: Play to develop chemistry while getting injured, or Rest to avoid injury while avoiding developing chemistry.

The Patriots have had very little hitting in camp. Along with that a lot of players have been held out so far this preseason including Seymour, Moss, Maroney and Ty Warren whos only played a few snaps. Watson hasn't been around much as well. I think Belichick is going LT and resting guys for the long run. Guys always *****ed about injuries each preseason so it's obvious to me that Belichick is trying his best to avoid them.

Pats are being, and have been, EXTRA careful with all their players this year. I would stop worrying about it if I were you.

You will find that our receivers this year will be a major improvement over last year, even if they have had relatively little practice time.

You know, it's easy to get all panicky, but to be honest, with everyone that's out, it's actually puts me a bit at ease. If it were one or two keys guys not there, then I'd be saying "Oh boy, they must be hurt", but we have a virtual army out ther either not playing or AWOL. They can't all be hurt, or if they are we are F'ed (I don't think that's the case).

Many of the guys out are vets and I think BB is just being real cautious with them. Sure some have tweaked stuff, but I'm not convinced that many aren't just taking it easy.

Henry just can't get a break can he? Probably the most talented journeyman RB since Earnest Byner.
