Agreed - Breer knows football and the Patriots - I find myself seeking out his articles every morning now when I get up.

Thanks for posting that SVN. He pointed out something that I didn't pay attention to.

– Keep an eye of Rashad Moore. He looked real comfortable in the defense in the second half, and could push Le Kevin Smith and Kareem Brown for a roster spot. The way he comes off the ball and uses his hands makes him look like a poor man’s Wilfork, and having a true nose to backup would be a nice luxury to have.

I'll have to keep an eye on Moore in future games. After the starters came off the field, I paid more attention to the secondary than the guys up front.

I am quickly becoming a huge fan of Breer. No other guy gives as detailed of analysis as he does. Other writers in this town will give opinions without a lot of support, but Breer backs up what he says with detailed and insightful information.

Breer is becoming my favorite writer. I don't want to sound like Mr. Tits.....but, most of the time.....other stuff I read from alot of the other writers, is stuff that I already new about. Breer breaks things down much better.

The "Reche Caldwell bandwagon"? As one of the few Caldwell defenders on this board, I didn't know there was one. There is definitely a Gaffney bandwagon, though.

Excellent analysis. Breer is worth reading for stuff that's not obvious. I think he might have gone to Lincoln-Sudbury HS with my daughter.

The "Reche Caldwell bandwagon"? As one of the few Caldwell defenders on this board, I didn't know there was one. There is definitely a Gaffney bandwagon, though.

I am on the caldwell bandwagon. he did great last year and he has been doing good this camp. he has the best rapport with brady of anyone cept troy.

Also I think Breer is having a great camp too he is really pushing Reiss for best on the beat...and it is really nice to have two guys like those two who you can read and not get annoyed by what is written. The only agenda they have is getting what they see on the field to fans like us who want every nugget we can get. Keep up the work Breer it doesn't go unnoticed here and as always same to you Reiss.

Reiss is good for 'confirmed'/breaking news since he seems to have some inside track to BB's info channel. Football knowledge wise i think breer is superior.

Breer was giving us great stuff like this all last season -- his "Tale of the Tape" was the strongest, most in depth and detailed analysis of Pats' games around, and he's picking up where he left off.

He's got a 1st class football mind, and he's being allowed to aim his pieces at the more knowledgeable fan -- a great move, IMO, because he's the sole provider of this kind of stuff on the local level, and even if it goes over the heads of some of his readers now, his posts will certainly help them improve their football vocabulary. We are all, none of us, too old to be taught something new about the game.

I'll have to keep an eye on Moore in future games. After the starters came off the field, I paid more attention to the secondary than the guys up front.

I was wondering who #63 was on the Dline. If that was Rashad Moore, I was impressed too. He was playing in the last quarter so I don't know who he was going against, but nobody moved him off the line and he was consistently controlling the A gaps. I didn't see him move much laterally, as it wasn't called for. That might be his problem. Number 63 definitely looked like a Nose Tackle.

rashad moore is like 325-360lbs he is definitely nose and he is tough to move but at the same time how well does he move on his own?

I thought he looked ok in camp but not sure if their is room for him....

Smith has a little more versatility as he can play DE or NT. Moore can only play the nose. There may not be room but they did have "Fats' Sullivan on the 53 man roster last year.

I will agree that Breer is a very good resource. Amazingly enough, in just the past couple years Boston FB coverage has gone from ungodly horrible to excellent. And it did this seemingly without much notice.

On the next play, it looked like Welker was to run his out-cut to the sticks. It was a third-and-4. Welker made his break at 2 yards and a perfectly thrown Brady toss, landing over Welker’s outside shoulder, went for naught. Welker was clearly upset with himself for it.

I saw this play differently. It looked to me that Brady's throw was lofted a little too much due to pressure and Welker had to cut back to catch the ball.

I saw this play differently. It looked to me that Brady's throw was lofted a little too much due to pressure and Welker had to cut back to catch the ball.

I saw it the way Breer did. Welker made his cut too early and as a result was well in front of the sticks, even before the ball was thrown. It happens.

I am going to start paying close attention to this guy. This is not the first time that I've read good reports about him.

I find this little chestnut encouraging:

It’s this simple: there’s no bigger key to the Patriots defense than No. 75. In a preseason setting, Vince Wilfork already looks like he’s in midseason form. If you stop the tape at the line, and put it in slow motion, it’s clear how quick he’s getting off the ball and his hands up. On Mike Wright’s sack in the second quarter, Wilfork fought a guard and the center from engaging him, and kept either from blocking anyone else, by consistently moving his hands. That left no help from the right guard on Wright, who blasted inside the right tackle and to quarterback Luke McCown. On running plays, Wilfork consistently got his hands up and into the blocker, maintaining the line of scrimmage and drawing double teams. If he keeps playing like this, Wilfork should be a Pro Bowler, whether you see his production show up in the stats or not.

Yeah, but it really is no surprise that Wilfork is dominant. It's pretty much to be expected. He was more consistent last year than even Seymour.
