I'll play Devils Advocate and say despite the late afternoon start... CBS did the right thing by protecting this game on the schedule. Most watched REGULAR SEASON game in NFL history.

I'll go with 28.7 million viewers. Completely taking out the 21.98 million from last year.

TV market is far more fragmented than it was in the 80s and 90s so ratings wise it won't do as well. However, the '05 game was the most watched game in like 6-7 years or something, did '06 beat that in ratings? I'd guess it did...07 should do pretty big, hopefully both teams will be playing well going into it like last year, unlike '05 when us Pats fans even knew we were about to get a whoopin with the banged up secondary we had....

I would say false... IMO it will be the most watched regular season game of this season if both teams are deep in the race for the AFC's top playoff seed at that point in time.

I saw the timeslot for the game as 4:15pm... if its not assigned as the Sunday Night game at that point, it would be pretty clear it would be the CBS "Main Event" game of the 4:15pm games scheduled. So do bet the #1 CBS announce team to be there.

False. The way the NFL's broadcasting policy is, there will be parts of the country that won't even get this game. It won't be the only game on at 4PM. Most of the West Coast teams will be playing at 4PM. If CBS, doesn't get the double header that weekend (which I would think they would, but who knows), then most of the country outside of New England and Indy would be watching whatever the marque 4PM game is on Fox.

It could set records in Boston and Indy, but definitely not nationally.

It isn't eligible to be moved to Sunday Night. The game is in week 9. The flexible schedule where games can get pushed to Sunday night doesn't start until week 11.

The league clearly made sure that there was no way that CBS wasn't getting this game. Considering they get screwed every year with this game being a primetime game, I think they deserved to get it once.
