Dale n Holley said they are going to have a Pats player on any minute now...but their not sure who it will be yet. You can listen online here:

mms://wmc1.liquidviewer.net/WEEI

They are going to take a break from the Red Sox talk, instead of 24 hours of Sox talk it will be 23 hours and 50 minutes.

Why do all you guys whine so much about the Sox? The pats get plenty of talk during football season. They get there share. Not much Sox talk going on when pats season starts up. I have listened to EEI for years and years. I must be dreaming about all the football talk when the pats are actually playing. If you didn't notice it is kind of the heat of the baseball season for a team that has been playing in this city for close to 100 years. The whining about the Sox is pretty weak.

People love the Pats here. Get over it.

It's not a whine, it's a valid observation. I have nothing against Red Sox talk during baseball season, but anyone who stays half-awake during football season, even after the World Series is over, will find the airwaves dominated (>75% at least) by Red Sox talk with endless trivial detail. It's not too much to ask a local sports outlet to try to make things even a little more equitable between the teams, especially when the most-discussed team is out of season. There were days last year, even during the NFL playoffs that more than half of the discussion was still centered around the Red Sox.

Your whining is weak, it's a known fact WEEI dictates the formats to be Red Sox because they have the radio rights, you must enjoy the dissecting of every play and move in a 162 game schedule, how exciting and enjoyable, the only time they talk Pats are when the Red Sox season is over, then they get right back at it with hot stove talk. Then into pre-spring training then into spring training.

WEEI has more sox talk, big surprise. However during the pats season they have plenty of Pats talk. Every Monday is "Patriots Monday" live from Gillette and they have interviews with Seymour, Rodney, Bru (dale and holley) and BB (the big show)...there may be more on D&C, but I don't listen to them. If one of those players is unavailable, then they get a replacement. Then they do a lot of the same on the Friday before the game. They talk Sox, but to say 75% Sox talk during the Pats season is bogus!

The MMS:// format allows you to listen in Windows Media player, without a separate IE/Firefox window.

I have no problem posting the additional link (I have both) but don't edit my post to make it look like I did it...then delete what I posted and put your own in it's place. I actually prefer using the IE link as during the day I have to use WMP for other things and this way I don't have to go back and keep reloading it.

There was no harm done, but it's just a matter of principle. Please don't edit what I post and change it to other info...that looks like it comes from me. Please if you feel the need to edit, just make a note next to it that you edited it...or in this case just add the additional link. :)

This yas often been claimed, yet this year (most) games moved down the dial. The result? More talk-radio time to dissect the Red Sox! :p Plus I haven't seen WEEI's vested interest in properties like the Revolution or BC Hockey ever translate into a single minute of air time.

Like it or not, the level of Red Sox talk on the radio does reflect the level of Red Sox interest in the community. This doesn't mean there isn't heavy interest in the Patriots too, but they generally come second. And it took Kevin Garnett to even remind Boston it had a basketball team. Oh, hey, didn't there used to be a hockey team too?

The Patriots blow the Red Sox away when it comes to TV ratings, the fact is the majority of Pats Fans aren't whiny soap opera driven fans, those are the people who listen to WEEI and complain about every move a manager makes, the media likes to make this out a Red Sox town but the interest in the Pats is the same or greater, you can measure interest on WEEI talk.

The Patriots blow the Red Sox away in head-to-head programing, they beat them in exhibition season as well, they are just as popular as the Sox if not more, they just don't call and whine and dissect every move the manager or coach makes on WEEI, you don't measure fan interest by callers on WEEI, you must be a member of the fellowship of the miserable.

Good thing Pats fans don't, say, whine and dissect every play called by the offensive coordinator. ;)

I'm happy to just say New England loves both teams. But it's disingenuous to compare the game-by-game TV ratings of 16 football games on broadcast TV to 162 baseball games on premium cable (not to mention the hordes who listen to the Sox on the radio -- baseball is much more of a radio sport).

No one is questioning that, good for them, but the fact is people have called to talk about the pats and have been told we are talking Red Sox, the hosts control the topic, and most times it's baseball, the Revolution and BC is so minimal in terms of gross revenue, they won't promote it, Pats Monday is worth more than those two combined, the facts are the facts but you have the right to sin any way you want to.

Come on, are you serious? Show me some numbers that would be comparable, like over a season. Per game I have no doubt that the Pats win, simply because they only have 16 games (regular season) and no-one will miss that one game a week, where the Sox usually play 6 times a week so it is more diluted. I miss Sox games, but i will never miss a Pats game.

I love both, I prefer watching the pats...but let's keep it on the level here.

Per game basis the Patriots beat them it's a known fact how else to you judge it or can judge it.

This discussion over WEEI has lead nowhere in the past. While they do tend to talk more Sox, the facts can't be denied: Patriots Monday, The Football Show, Michael Holley, player interviews, Steve DeOssie, Fred Smerlas, and Paul Perillo.

One thing is for sure, though:

Get ready for Celtics talk!

That's what I just said...per game of course the Pats will win. There's 5 more Sox games a week than Pats games. I am saying that way of judging things is poor because they are not equal.
