When I was at TC yeaterday and went over to a table for a roster, a woman handed me a pamphlet. I thought is was her name, phone #, photos and address as I get that all of the time.

Instead it was announcing that the Dallas away game will be shown at Gillette on the Jumbo screen. There will be former Patriot players and Cheerleaders:rocker: , as well as some other entertainment. The cost is $25 per ticket.

Didn't see this posted here before so I thought I'd get the info out to those who have not been to TC. It's a 4:15 game and the gates will open at 2:30.

That's all I can remember about it.

Those Krafts sure know how to make a buck huh? Robert didn't get to where he is by being stupid, that's for sure.

Ditto this, but in a good way. :)

I'm surprised that dome/good weather teams don't do this more often. Why let your stadium sit empty when you could turn it into the world's biggest sports bar? Granted, the expense of opening/staffing the stadium is enormous, but if you can just break even you've got a nice fan loyalty boost -- especially for those who can't get/afford regular game tickets and never get into the stadium.

It's actually a really good idea and would be spectacularly good in the upcoming Cowboys stadium with that screen that goes from the 20 to the 20.

Why stop at the Dallas game? Why not do all the away games like this.
I'm sure he would sell plenty of tickets.

What does the $25 get you besides admission? If it doesn't include something additional like food, etc., that's too much. Heck, they should let people in for free and make their money off concessions. If it was a nice day and admission was free, I could see tailgating beforehand and going in to watch it on the big screen, but $25 just to be there is too pricey.

It's probably a feeler. If he gets 20k fans he may do it more often.

Re: Dallas away game shown at Gillette

Agreed, $25 is too much considering beer costs $7 at the stadium. I can go to a sports bar and get my first 5 beers for the cost of a ticket. My guess is that they'll do it for every away game next year, when Patriots Place is open.

I don't know and the pamphlet is at home. There may be something on the official web site.

They did have 100 VIP tickets that had "extras" at $100 per ticket but they sold out fast.

But how many people will voluntarily sit outdoors to watch a December night game on tv???

Re: Dallas away game shown at Gillette

Club seat & suite-holders get access to the club sections for all afternoon away games.

I went to the Bills game years ago when Gillette opened, for Bledsoes first game as the Bills qb.

I assume thats what they're now trying to sell tothe general public - access to the club section. They won't open the entire stadium or concessions unless they sell a boatload of tix.

Do you have to pay the $40 parking fee as well?

GMTA, because this was the first thought I had when I saw this posting about the Patriots' plans. But I gotta say I don't see myself ever doing it at Gillette. Why deal with all the hassle and nonsense to watch a game with less resolution than my own TV..?

Could you imagine the snow ball fight that could be had?

Tell me, do those $100 'extras' have anything at all whatsoever to do with the cheerleaders?
Perhaps this is the wrong forum for a detailed blow by blow reply.

Probably gotta pay for parking too.

Probably the people who can't get tickets to home games and want to get inside Gillette.

Re: Dallas away game shown at Gillette

Boy that Krafty must think Patriot fans are some serious losers...which one of you clowns would show up at this event? Hey Krafty, if we want to leave the comforts of our own home to watch an away game on TV, we'll do it at a local pub...thanks for that generous offer though. ;)

Geesh, this guy would sell tickets to his own mothers funeral.

No, but I bet he'd sell tickets to your mother's funeral.

Proof will be in the attendance, if it's empty (which I venture it will be), it won't be done again. What's he risking? Nothing.

I wish I had something witty to add to this comment, but I don't. Just wanted you know that your humor was appreciated.
