Pats cut Quadtrine Hill

Wasn't that also the case in the last half of the 2007 Championship game.

Remember in 2005 when the team got so desperate for runningbacks that Evans, a fullback, became their starting running back? Yikes.

So, what's the Official roster count now?

It doesn't appear that CJ or Troy have been placed on Reserve PUP; does that mean that we're now one over the max? Forgive me, but I seem to have lost count over the weekend.

P.S.: It would seem to make more sense to me to release either Dunlap or Jones, since it was Stallworth who was removed from Active PUP. Both of them have even less chance to make the 53 than Q.Hill had.

They're currently at 84 now. Minus A$ante and the 3 NFLEs gives 80. But considering the Pats were at 81 for the good part of the last week (and at 82 various points before then), there's obviously something missing here.

As Arte Johnson might say: verrry in-ter-est-ink...

I'll say one thing about injuries to the Pats: they seem to come in bunches at one position.

Only at Patsfans can a guy named Quadtrine Hill (and a cut player at that) spawn off a thread covering 3 pages of forum talk ;)

If it wasn't the offseason this thread would be buried on the second page by now.

Obviously they had thoughts of him as a Patrick pass type player..versatile..and...it did not pan out.

You are allright. Hill is 6'2" 230. Big kid.

Yeah - I'm not sure there was a real expectation that Hill was going to fill that role on the team, but he certainly had the size.

Give me that size (actually shorter and stockier) in someone with more experience and I'd love to see if he can serve the role of averaging 3 yards a carry within the 10 yard line.

Someone like Antoine Smith???? One of the top 10 RBs in Pats History?

MG - This is true. However, during Dillon's most recent interview, he alluded to the fact that he wasn't injured and that he didn't understand why the Pats didn't let him run the ball more.

As I said then, if Dillon wasn't injured, it makes the play-calling with 4:39 left in the game an even bigger head scratcher. From the 29 yard line, even if they get almost nothing on each run, they could still run over 2 minutes off the clock or force the Colts to use their time outs. So, worst case is that the Colts are out of time outs with the Pats up by 3 and the Colts on the wrong side of the two minute warning. Best cast scenario is that the Pats get a 1st down and run the clock down to where they win with a FG, giving the Colts the ball back with little if any time on the clock.

Now, that being said, this was the only series in the play-offs that I had an issue in how McDaniels called the plays in. And I do also acknowledge that Brady could have audibled out of the run to try and catch the Colts ff guard, though Dillon wasn't on the field, Evans was.

The Bears picked up Quadtrine today...Good luck in Chi-town Quad!!

Isn't this the second time he's been signed by the Bears? Hopefully he sticks with them this time... although I hope we don't live to regret that.
