Sean and Mark of NFL Live just chose Tom Brady's overall career over Brett Farve's career. They also did John Elway, Troy Aikman, Steve Young, & Peyton Manning's careers

...and why argue??? ;)

Re: Nfl Live: Brett Farve Or Tom Brady

Tough. Brady is on a great iron-man pace too, but Favre's streak is just incredible. I'll say Favre as of RIGHT now if Brady quit. But even figuring conservatively for Brady's future, then I'll say him.

Re: Nfl Live: Brett Farve Or Tom Brady

Kind of a odd comparison when both are still playing and one of them (Brady) will add a lot more numbers before his careers done

that being said the other one currently owns most of the top QB Records, has a SB Win, and has won multiple MVP's

I respect Salisbury (who loves the Pats) and Schlereth's opinions. They deliver the information in a matter-of-fact way and don't go overboard.

Even if they did say Farve over TB, I might not have put up too much of a stink. Real close call.

How come they didnt include Montana in the discussion? He might be the only guy that would be chosen over both of them.

Re: Nfl Live: Brett Farve Or Tom Brady

geez I like Brady as much as the next guy. But lets wait and see before we start mentioning him with a guy who holds most of the records and lets not forget that incredible streak.

When its all said and done, it appears Brady will have the better career. But that is a little crazy to say Brady's career to this point is more impressive than Farve's long illustrious career (though he probably should have hung em up by now)

geesh this offseason is long....

I agree. What is the basis of their arguement though?

Arguement #1- Who will be the greatest statistical QB of all time? Brady or Favre? IMO- It'll be Manning before it's all said and done. Brady will also have top 10 numbers as long as he has a decent d to give him the ball, an o-line ot protect him, solid complimentary players at the skill positions and good coaching to help him win.

Arguement #2- Who will be the greatest QB of all-time? Brady or Favre? What are the determining factors? SB wins? Playoff wins? Winning %? TDs thrown? Come from behind wins? -IMO- I guess you can say it's Brady by judging his playoff success alone.

Regardless, both are winners, certain HoFers and on may occasions have willed their teams to victory.

Three rings (so far) to one. Personally, I'd take Brady's career.

I'm not sure what Favre's streak has to do with how good he is. IIRC, Jaworski held that record before Favre and he was by no means an all time great QB.

I hate to say it but:

Right now - Tom Brady

In their prime - Still Tom Brady

who knows?
Tom Brady might get a horrible injury, or may suck this season (both VERY unlikely), but anything can happen, Favre is just staying as long as he can but had a great career, when both are done, then compare.

Does it make me a bad person that I pray these things might happen??:(

If Brady didn't have a sucky season last year, then he'll never have a sucky season.

brady wins this in a slam dunk, he's been more clutch and alot less stupid than favre

i mean favre even in his prime was guilty of some very very stupid qb play

Yeah agree, although effective sometime, his gunslinging aggresive attitude has hurt him a lot. Hence all the INT's

If you could choose one of these QBs (knowing what we know now) when they were coming into the league, who would you choose for your team?

Brady.

Every year Farve stays in the league to increase his games played streak makes his career more lackluster imo. He's still one of the greatest QBs ever, but at this point he's just bringing the franchise down. I pity the day when we get in the same situation with Brady.

Wishing Brady would suck--no, as a sports fan, that's only human. (Do you honestly think that no one on this board wishes P. Manning's career suddenly took an Eli-like arc?)
Hoping Brady gets injured, though--now that's not nice. :nono:
