Well, I finally got over to Gillette for my first camp practice session this morning after an aborted attempt to get to last Mondays session. No Moss and not a lot of passing but the special teams stuff was fun to watch...they did cut practice short by 45mins, possibly because of the dang heat. There was a good crowd but still room to move. Other people have already taken care of the in-depth analysis of what all was going on so I won't recap that, mainly because I can't because I brought my camera with me. As I said in another thread, when you go to an event to shoot photos you come home not knowing much of what happened except for what you saw through your viewfinder! I'm a bit rusty on my sports shooting, and am experiencing a bit of a malfunction with the lens I was using but I still got one or two good shots...figured I'd post them for those that can't cut work to get to the sessions for themselves ;) :p

Nothing special, just a quickie Photoshop web gallery...a lot of the shots are of the passing drill because they ran it right in front of where I was sitting, but there's some return stuff mixed in as well. Bam Bam was the man, I can see them using him more on returns to keep Maroney fresh if they can fit him into the final roster....

Enjoy!

Thank you kindly sir! Did you your viewfinder happen to know if that Reche shot was a one handed grab?

Nice...thanks.

Whats up with the orange helmet covers?

AWESOME shots.

Digital SLR? Gotta be. They look as good if not better than my Nikon D50 shots.

it was in fact, which I only know because I have a shot from 1/2sec later where he brings it into his chest for a clean catch ;). I actually had my buddy next to me telling me which return man punts where going to so I could focus in on the right guy and know when the ball was coming down....teamwork

thanks....yup, D2x with an ailing 80-200 AF-S. I have a bunch of shots that are cloudy, for lack of a better word . I'm picking up a gently used 70-200 AF-S VR from a guy next week and sending this lens in for repair, then selling it off. it's served me well but it's time to move on...

now the question is can I duck out of work again next week to test the new used lens out at another practice ;)

Whats up with the orange helmet covers?
The orange covers on the helmets are used for players on special teams. There are offensive (white jerseys) and defensive players (dark blue jerseys) that play on special teams and the only way to tell the difference on one side of the ball is to have them all wear orange on their helmets.

Teamwork, what a concept! Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for sharing. You looked like you aren't that rusty....

Cool shots, starts to make up for the fact I cant make to camp as much.

Are you the same Boston bullit who used to post mountain bike shots on local forums?
