For the record, I am not remotely religious but it is very unfair on you guys that you have to read the titles of some of the spam. Do none of you want to moderate the forum?

In the absence of anyone else, I'll offer to do it. Any objections?

I second you bro, I volunteered awhile ago and didn't receive a response from the powers that be. The stupid spam posts detract from the site.

I would appreciate it greatly. I didnt feel right volunteering because then folks might think i was trying to always make it the "Christian" forum. I welcome all religious or spiritual discussion, i just dont like the spam and i could do without the hateful personal attacks on any religion or person.

Thank you for stepping up.

I agree.
I would even welcome controls on my own hateful personal attacks on you religious people.

Just my theory and probably a load of doo. If someones trying to lure advertisers to their site, how good does it look for them having 40 new posters join a week? They don't know that they're one hit wonders peddling porn and cheaps watches.

I agree maybe some of the pious pontificators on other sites could be lured here... might become more viable then.

I agree that a mod is needed. Ian is away, but when he gets back I'll recommend Cat for the job if he still wants it.

I would be happy to do the job. I am not a Christian (I would class myself as agnostic) but would hope that I was able to defend a person's right to express their religious views. It's a principle we all believe in, myself included.
That said, if anyone who is more "religious" wants to take the job, they are welcome to do so. Of course, this is all hypothetical as Ian hasn't replied and may like things the way they are.

As I mentioned, Ian is away for a little while. When he returns, he will either see this thread or I'll PM him and the other mod's. This forum does need a cleanup now and someone to keep it clean in the future.

No one else can appoint a mod besides Ian and no mod from the other forums can clean this up.
