For what it's worth.I heard on the radio that theses charges are nothing to whats comeing down the road. EEI was quoting sources from espn,and a lawyer whose name escapes me that once taylor starts talking Vick's in alot more trouble. that The dog fighting is the tip of the ice burgh.

I think the NFL must take the bull by the horns and weed out the offenders.

Whatever is deemed illegal when it comes to dog fighting ( I would think it would be every single aspect including gambling), should be enforced as part of the expected behavior of a player (and coach or owner I might add).

Find them and prosecute them ALL, the sooner the better, and then move on.

Personally, I think that there is a big difference between attending a match or two versus running the damn fights, kennels and taking book (not condoning anything, just saying there is a difference).

I would hope this would not run so deep as to involve more than a dozen or so players throughout the league.

Whatever it takes, suspensions, bannings, fines - take action now and eradicate these sickening dog fights from having anything to do with NFL players, coaches, associates and / or owners.

Taylor pleading guilty to probably testify against Visk kinda gives Vick an option. He could do the same and give up bigger fish, "maybe" avoid jail time in doing so and save some of his NFL career. Ya never know.

The only problem is that M. Vick IS the big fish....in terms of celebrity, notoriety. If he looks up, there's not too many people to turn on ....
if any...........Once the feds have you in their ights intending to make an example, look out. Ask Martha Stewart, Leona Helmsley or the guys from Enron or Adelphia Cable..... It;s the reason the IRS always announces a high profile tax arrest around April 15..to send a message and to have a deterrent effect...

I agree. While on a six-week deployment to NAS Cubi Point in the Philippines, I and 3 other drunk and stoned (as usual) Marines attended a c0c&fight at a neighbouring village. I admit that we didn't have a bad time there. In fact, my 2 6-week deployments to the PI were the best 12 weeks of my life.

I have no idea they didn't say.But did say they wanted to wait till after Taylor pleads out. They did mention something about Vick driveing around and picking up dogs,family pets for his dogs to train on. Right now it's all conjecture.

This has been a terrible week or two for all sports in general. NBA referee gambling issue, Tour de France disqualification issues, NFL with Vick and Mr. Steroids about to break the home run record.

Enron, MCI and Alelphis were the big fish. While Vick may have the name recognition I sincerely doubt he's that big a player in dog fighting circles. There are guys who probably just do dog fighting, make more money at it and do little else that the feds would really like to get and really put a crimp in the whole dog fighting scene. If all they get are Vick and his 2 codefendants, I don't think it puts a very big dent in the dog fighting as a whole.

* IF he breaks Hank's record in LA and they cheer him It'll piss me off. Hank was my favorite player when I was a kid. Frankly, I felt Bud Seeweed coming out to SF for a couple of games was like giving the seal of approval for steriods.

I don't get it myself, he should be a hated by all but his teammates seem to love him, his fans do to, opposing fans cheer when he hits a HR (they often boo before), former MLB players defend him. It's a weird world and I don't get it.
