Mrs. B had a great idea about blogging and I was thinking of starting my own blog but eh I might do that later instead of today but lets get down to the juicy stuff. I'm not going to break it up into which is which because I'm tired and I have stuff written everywhere but the stuff I have is good so as always any questions throughout don't worry about asking.
Random ST's stuff:
Tom Malone both practices he reminded me of a certain ex-patriots player. I think that Players name was Ken Walter but I'm sure most of you can see what i mean by that line for this punter.
C. J. Jones #2 had a few nice catches but then again on ST's stuff he would make mental mistakes that would just make you say huh? Ex. Miller is punting to the goal line and players are trying to down the ball at the 1. Jones runs to the ball and catches it in the end zone when he clearly could have taken another step forward and catch the ball at the one. He had plenty of time which really pissed off Seely.
Gostkowski looks good.
Danny Baugher #5 punter kicks the crap out of balls. I was amazed and how hard he can kick. This guy if any should give Miller thoughts about competition. Baugher at one point booted a ball (in my estimation) about 50+ yards causing Welker to run backwards to get it. (or was it Bam Childress at that point?)
WR:
Something I found funny about the WR position is that (minus Stallworth) the starting lineup went Moss, Gaffney, Welker (slot), Caldwell, Washington. Gaffney looked good except for a dropped ball here and there.
-Washington is not going down and out without a fight he made some very hard and strong catches and every time he was close to the out of bounds lines he made sure he knew where his footing was and kept in bounds. I was impressed with both workouts from him.
-Moss has made me dream like a 14 year old school girl of the jock quarterback in high school. He was awesome. I kid you not folks i mean awesome. He plucked balls out of the sky like they were nothing. Made a couple of one handed grabs and a few diving to the sidelines grabs. I was amazed at how good and crisp he looked. Brady BTW was nailing him with balls all day. After every offensive scrimmage Moss and Brady would walk and talk back to the next mini drill. One mentioned play on Moss on which he absolutely blew away one CB Gemara Williams and scored deep. Now when I say blew away i mean flat out run a straight out route deep and Moss was a good 10-15 yards ahead of the guy when he caught that ball.
-Caldwell looked good but then again I didn't see him much. Weird.
-Welker is going to be by far one of my favorite patriots all time. This is why, the guy is a worker and a hustler. When he wasn't running like a madman all over the field catching. He was running and always moving in between events. Other players were taking a knee taking a much needed breather on an incredibly hot day while he was still running. His teammates must have thought he was on crack. Workhorse, argue all you want about we gave up too much for the guy but I tell you this, he will win you over, all of you!
RB:
Maroney wore a red no contact jersey: Besides that he looked fast at one point on one on one drills juked Bruschi right out of his tackle.
-Morris to most of the starting snaps just as a precaution I'm guessing and to get him use to the system. Looked good no complaints.
-Faulk is shifty as usual always throwing himself side to side trying to make room.
CB/S:
Chad Scott went down and never saw him again. Someone told me he was carted away but I didn't see that.
-James took over starting across from Hobbs after the injury.
-Ellis is fast and can jump high.
-Richardson is a good zone player he covered Moss very very well both times and looked to know what he was doing.
-I don't like Larry Anam, I don't know what it is but nothing appealed to me about him.
- Funny note (not really though) I saw Gay trip or catch his own footing and my immediate reaction was DONE, he's on the IR. He was fine and running after. Randall if your reading this I'm sorry.
-Wilson and Harrison were your starting combo at safety. Couldn't really give you a ton of info on Wilson since I could rarely see what he was doing.
-Harrison (cant believe I'm going to say this) looks rusty, did not do well on the one on one drills. Hopefully its just a day 1 thing.
-Willie Andrews can play ST's and I mean good. He downed I think 100% of his punts at the 1. Got to the punt returner every time and looks like one of the quickest players we have. Right not if Gay and Andrews were our gunners then that would be great news.
-Gemara Williams SUCKS! Never seen Seely curse at a player before so much. CUT!
OL:
They were so far away I think I thought every player was either Mankins, Light or Koppen. Someone told me 75 looked good out there. And that's when I came to the conclusion no one could see anything since they just named Wilfork an offensive lineman.
DL:
Warren got bigger. Not fatter but his shoulders look a bit wider. I've seen this man up close and personal a few times and it looks like he's got some powerful upper body strength. He'll be something to keep an eye on this year.
-Wilfork I was told lost weight but he didn't look like it out there. That man is a wrecking ball. *Just looked it up 30 lbs lost! Well it sure as hell didn't look like it.
-Green was starting in Seymour's place. Wright was the immediate backup to everyone.
LB's: JOY!
-I was happy to see Oscar Lua hanging out with Vrabel and Bruschi during breathers. I got a nice pick of it too!
-Rogers is bigger than I imagined. He was getting some ST's blocking pointers from (don't mean to sound racist) but a black coach who looked like Otis Smith but cant confirm. Rogers was always getting pointers. Don't know if thats a good thing or not.
-I might be the only one with this opinion but Bruschi looks like he has a bit more spring in his step. Minus that play where Maroney made him look terrible and Bruschi was on top of things pretty well.
-Seau wore a red no contact jersey. He and Belichick stood about 10-15 yards behind defensive drills and talked about stuff. Belichick obviously was asking him questions because you could see Seau pointing stuff out pre-snap.
-Pierre Woods is going to be something on this team, he's fast and tall and he can cover. He's our future OLB once the tandem of Rosie, Vrabel and Thomas get too old.
-Chad Brown had a few bad plays and when I say a few I mean 4. One on Ones didn't go over too well.
-I kept a close on on Thomas all day. Besides the fact that he kept up with almost every TE we have step for step he sure as hell can make noise. When he was inside playing the strongside ILB, you could hear him hit that line hard. Very impressed.
Your starting LB's were Colvin - Thomas - Bruschi - Vrabel in that order from left to right.
Random Tidbits:
-Kyle Brady is one big dude. Towers over other players makes Watson look smaller too.
-Gutierrez has potential. Strong arm is definitely his strength by far. He gets a thumbs up.
-Maroney joked around with Faulk by trying to strip the ball from him.
-People cheered loud for Moss, Brady, Bruschi and some for Harrison.
-Big upset reactions when Moss dropped a ball, Gaffney dropped a ball, Bruschi got juked, Harrison missed a tackle.
-Brady has a legion of women show up to practice. Check that make it an Army of girls who have no idea whats going on. Very annoying. Especially the one who after every throw thought she would be Paris Hilton and say "thats hot" if your reading this please SHUT THE HELL UP!
- I like Garrett Mills but I have a hard time thinking he'll make this team.
Well thats it for now. Any questions and or comments please feel free to leave them.
Thanks for reading!
