Kareem - what did you do??

What a great way to start your career.
Go U !

he'll only be a third stringer anyways. most likely

I wouldn't get too excited about it. Perhaps he was a few minutes late for a meeting. You need to lay down the law with these rookies and show them that there are consequences to their actions. Which may not have been the case in their college career.

I am sure what ever he did the punishment was just and to teach him early not to be a little pimple on the arse of the roster

Yes, we should definitely panic.

I agree it is likely a wake-up call for Brown. Merriweather will be thrown into the fire when he comes to camp.

No more X Box between practices like at the U, this is business. Welcome to the No Fun League rookie.

yup time to go to work no work no play no work out of the league.

I'm interested to see how Brown responds in his first few weeks after he joins the team Monday. Seems alot of rookies, when given this type of wake up call either get it or they don't.

Here's hoping Brown gets it. Kid's got a ton of potential.

Can't say that I'm too surprised. Not every student-athlete who matriculated at The U is as professional as Vince Wilfork. Hopefully, Vince can help teach this guy The Patriot Way. Are Brown's pro day 40 times of over 5.3 an answer to the question: how important is football to him? I hope he proves me wrong.

Yes, it's early, and this guy is one I'd pegged for a rookie who might contribute in his first year. That being said, Kareem has had team orientation, league orientation, rookie, and mini camps to learn the dos and don'ts, and he's failed. Wilfork has already taken him aside, and he still needed a kick in the arse.

He'd better on best behavior, have eyes wide, and be at double speed by Monday or this camp will be a short memory for Kareem.

It's freakin' amazing. I don't even know what he did, but to have to walk into that locker room on Monday morning as a 4th round draft pick hoping to make the third string and answer to guys like Harrison, Seymour, Seau, Bruschi, and Adalius. If it was me I would probably shut the f#ck up, pay close attention, and work my ***** off. I just don't get it with some of these guys. Do they really take this ***** for granted?

Well, give him abreak. He might not know how to operate an alarm clock yet. At Miami, all you had to do was roll out of bed whenever you woke up, and play some XBox etc. Practice wasn't until the afternoon. He's just used to a different lifestyle, one in which alarm clocks are practically non-existent.

Here's a picture of him after he was told he was suspended:

I don't know about that. Both Seymour and Green took a pounding last season. Behind them you have Wright and Smith. Brown has more potential than the other two backups.... it's just a matter of him maturing.

I know, they really need to work on the defensive lineman. One of the worst in the league :)

What makes you think that Brown has more potential than Mike Wright? Wright made it as a walk on and has held his own as a back-up NT and back-up DE. He's been amazing on special teams to boot. In fact, our special teams coverage suffered when Wright was pulled off when Seymour was down last year.

Mainly the fact that Brown was a 4th rounder and Wright went undrafted. Look at the draft publications, they describe Brown as an underachiver. Despite being labeled as a slacker, Brown was still good enough to feature regularly for the Hurricane d-line from his sophomore year on.

*chuckle* So, Ryan Leaf has more potential than Tom Brady?

Come on. You and I both know the draft is a crap shoot and that there are players every year who go undrafted only to go on and have good careers. I don't think I need to go over the litany of undrafted and late rounders who have made significant impacts in this league.
