You guys need to stop judging this man and let the trial play out. If he comes out innocent, all of you will look like idiots! These are accusations with evidence coming from witnesses who are thugs themselves. How much trust can you put in someone who is already doing dirt! Just wait for all the facts to come out before you deem the man guilty!

Whether or not he's convicted in court he is history in Atlanta. Blank has had it with him. As Mort said if and when he releases him he expects Blank will cite behavior beyond what happened in this case as his rationale. He wants a face of the franchise that doesn't make him wince.

I don't have to let a trial play out since I'm not part of that process. I'm not affraid of looking like an idiot on this one. When you by choice surround yourself with thugs in crimimal activity those are usually the bulk of the witnesses against you. As long as their testimony matches up to the facts as established by other evidence they are just as credible as you or me. Remember, the Feds didn't dig up the entire property, they knew right where to go based on an informant's information. They will have hard evidence to corroberate any witness testimony they present.

That's the problem with society today! People want to judge people without knowing all the facts. I guess that makes you part of the problem!
So I should pretend I don't have an opinion on his guilt? I certainly would not send him to jail based on the evidence that I've seen, but that's not my function. A trial won't tell us whether he actually did what he's accused of, it'll only tell us whether the prosecution or defense was able to convince a jury. Public opinion doesn't work on the "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard. Again, the court found OJ not guilty, but I can still say I think he's guilty, can't I?

Yes you are entitled to your opinion. But the court system is what America has in place to determine if a person is guilty or not. That's what determines if a person goes to jail or not. As far as the witnesses go, if I was doing dirt and could get off, I'd do what's best in my own interest too even if it meant telling a lie. I'm not saying that Vick wasn't aware of what could have been going on at his property. Maybe he didn't take it serious and do what he needed to do as far as keeping his name out of it. But if the Feds wanted me to place Vick at a fight to decrease or eliminate my jail time, why wouldn't I lie? I wouldn't have anything to loose right? If Vick was actually involved, he should do time. But just let all the facts come out before you make him guilty! That's all I'm saying!

Vick pled innocent. What is his defense?

Vick might be acquitted, so what? Our justice system is wrong, too, sometimes. The fact that he had these fights going on at his house for years tells me that his hands aren't 100% clean either way, and with animal abuse that would be enough for me to hate him, even if there's no criminal culpability.

1) First of all, there's no such thing as being found innocent.
2) Second of all, just because he is found "not guilty" does not mean he is innocent. If you don't believe me, just ask O.J. Simpson

You really don't know much about Federal cases do you? They have a 98% conviction rate. Meaning that they usually don't go to even the indictment stage unless they know they can get a conviction.

MOST of the evidence isn't coming from "THUGS", its coming from the stuff they confiscated at his house. HIS HOUSE. And people who lived near there that said they used to see Vick there all the time. We're not talking about thugs. We're talking about his NEIGHBORS. So Vick has already lied saying that he didn't go there but a few times.

You are clearly blinded by something. I'm not sure what, but you are. Because anyone who would believe that Vick is not guilty in this is delusional.

And people like you are just as much a part of the problem. BLINDLY ignoring what has already come out about the situation.

Marketing update on Vick -

NFL Shop.com has stopped selling Vick jersey...

Reebok has announced it will no longer produce a Vick jersey...

Nike has announced it has suspended (without pay) it's contract with Vick. Per ESPN they have done this before in other cases and in this case it may indicate they have an out clause in their contract with him. What is new this time is they have advised retailers that they will provide some sort of assistance in liquidating their stock...

ESPN says Vick doesn't have any sponsorship deals left since several had played out in the last year and weren't renewed.

This Banning Vick thread is a great multi purpose thread.

One of Vick's co-defendants in the dogfighting case to have plea agreement hearing on Monday

By Larry O'Dell, Associated Press Writer

RICHMOND, Va. — One of Michael Vick's co-defendants doesn't want to wait for trial.

Instead, a plea agreement hearing has been scheduled for Tony Taylor at 9 a.m. Monday in the federal dogfighting conspiracy case.

Taylor's hearing was added to U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson's docket Friday, a day after he and the other three defendants pleaded not guilty before the same judge. Vick and the others still are scheduled for trial Nov. 26.

Prosecutors claim Taylor, 34, found the Surry County property purchased by Vick and used it as the site of "Bad Newz Kennels," a dogfighting enterprise. The Hampton man also allegedly helped purchase pit bulls and killed at least two dogs that fared poorly in test fights.

Taylor's lawyer, Stephen Ashton Hudgins of Newport News, did not immediately return a phone message, and federal prosecutors have declined to talk about the case...

All four remain free without bond. When U.S. Magistrate Dennis Dohnal set the conditions for their release Thursday, he commended Taylor for admitting to using illegal drugs despite never being convicted of a drug offense. He ordered periodic drug testing for Taylor.

Peace and Phillips each have drug convictions and were ordered to submit to testing, as well as an electronic monitoring program. Taylor was spared the electronic monitoring.

Neither drug testing nor monitoring were ordered for Vick.

Floyd Reese (former Titans GM) made a good point on NFL Live yesterday. He said there isn't a much bigger group in the world than animal lovers so he thinks Vick would find it almost impossible to catch on anywhere because anywhere he goes there would be a huge opposition.

People have mentioned OJ in this thread. IMO, if Vick is found not guilty, he would be in the exact spot OJ is in with MANY people still believing he is guilty. So no matter what, I don't see this as something that could possibly blow over for Vick.
