Sky Sports, which covers the NFL here in the UK has just published its plans for the 2007 season, and is offering us the broadest coverage ever.

For Pats fans, the best immediate news is that the pre-season game against the Panthers will be shown. This is the first time they have aired a pre-season game live, and is great because we will get a chance to see the second stringers and the rookies and get some idea of them.

On to the regular season and this year they will be showing games live on Sunday at the 1pm, 6pm and evening game slots, and will be offering a choice of three games at 1 and 6, which means the chance of the Pats being on live is better than ever before. They are also going to show far more support packages before with things like NFL Total Access etc.

We'll probably end up with better coverage than a lot of people in the US.

Marvellous.

good for you...we still do not know yet what we will be able to see with SKY here in Italy...

for sure NO pre-season games (let's hope we will have 2 'alive' games for the regular season...)

this is great. it means we get to see the patriots against the colts and chargers. however, i think there is only a choice between 2 games at 1 and 4. when it says it will show 2 extra games, i think it means 1 at 6 and 1 at 9(GMT)

how many games per week will you see in UK alive ?

4 in total ?

1 - 1 pm game
2 - 4-4,15 pm game
3 - Sunday Night
4 - Monday Night

not bad at all...

It's a confusing press release I've seen, but I'm pretty sure it's a choice of three games at 1 and 6, for this reason: they are going to show 131 games live, which add up like this:

102 regular season Sunday games (17 weeks x 6 games - 3@1, 3@6, 1 late)
11 play off games
3 games on Thanksgiving Day
6 preseason
1 opening day game

123 - Total

Plus towards weeks 15,16,17 ardound Christmas they always show a handful of extra games, which would probably take the total near to 131.

If it were just a two game choice on Sunday the total would be 106 before those extras, and that's way too low. So I'm pretty sure it's a choice of three, which most weeks would make the Pats a shoe-in. particularly this season given the white hot schedule.
