Apparently there will be no suspension of any game for newly acquired Miami Dolphins LB Joey Porter, nothing has been made of it and if it has not happened by now its not going to happen.

Is Goodell a secretive Dolphins fan and does this not fall into the terms of unproper conduct outside of football?

If he has not been suspended for a few games like 2 or 3 games for this vicious uncalled for fight, there is no logical explanantion as to why not except for the fact that he has his lips around Goodell's ---- or for some reason Goodell thinks its apparently O.K. to kick another division rival player's ass in a Las Vegas Casino

Thats whats crazy about this,Pacman Jones is gone for a season and was not arrested or convicted of anything yet (although we know he is guilty hes still walking free) but Joey Porter gets arrested and has nothing done in regards to his playing time to show for his actions?

IMO The scene as described by a witness in the link below is a criminal act that needs to be addressed and should be before Joey is allowed to put on the ugly Aqua uniform in TC

NFL give an update? I read some where that he is next up on the commissioners plate.

He better be. What a d*ck that guy is.

He is a first time offender. Goodell is trying to crack down on repeat offenders and is buying into the whole "second chance" policy. Henry and Pacman have constantly been in trouble, the point is to learn your lesson, if not given a second chance, they may never learn the lesson. Porter and Chambers will be out there opening day as they both should be.

he had gotten thrown out of a game for a before the game altercation with a player on another team.

I know your a fin fan and you want to back your player but this is rediculous. The guy attacked a rival player with his friends because the rival showed him up on the field.

What the hell does that say,

if you dont let me sack your qb I will beat you up after the game. Seriously that is my take on this.

Yes but you're getting away from off field issues. What happens on the field shouldn't carry over IMO. It's in the heat of battle and players are doing their job (no I'm not condoning fighting on the field, but you understand there's a difference.)

Can I assume then that you are ok with Mike Tyson biting off Evander Holyfield's ear because it was done in the ring in the heat of battle?

I saw one theory about this issue giving the Fins a free pass because Huizenga was taking his team to London for the international game. Don't shoot me. Not my theory.

the league should at the very least fine him.

What a travesty. The Dolphins are a discrace to the league. Why not send a quality representative instead of the pathetic Phins? This will set the NFL in Europe back decades.

The Brits are the only ones buying those empty condos on South Beach...Wayne's developer buddies have urged him to embrace the city's new tenants.

What happened between him and William Green was no different than what happened between him and Levi Jones. Porter and Green assaulted each other before a game. It was technically on the field, but it wasn't during a game. The only reason neither guy was not arrested was because it happened on the field and the league probably squashed the police's involvement.

If it happened during the course of a game, you might have an arguement. But since it happened before the game, I don't think you do.

According to PFT, the Dolphins called in a favor with the league to save Porter from being suspended. They argued that since they lost a home game and had to play in England, the league shouldn't suspend Porter as compensation. I bet that had more to do with it rather than Porter being a first time offender because he isn't.

Can I assume that that is a complete exagerration? Come on, that is entirely different to Porter getting into shoving matches on Sunday.

I understand that but I still feel it's much different than what happend with Porter and Jones in Vegas.

While losing that home game and being forced to play in London is ridiculous and could be costly to our season, I doubt the league office felt the need to compensate for us.

I feel what happened in Vegas was worse, I think the William Green incident is very relevant. They fight between the two happened during warm ups. It wasn't like it was a scuffle after a play.

As for the league office throwing the Dolphins a bone, I can definitely see them doing that. The Dolphins are already at an unfair disadvantage by only having seven home games. By suspending one of their star players during one or two of the first games of the season, even more puts them at a disadvantage. Since most people seem to think Porter would have gotten an one game suspension, I can see the league making this concession. If it was a Pacman Jones type of suspension, I don't see the league giving the Dolphins a break.

Yeah it could have some relevance, but it's not a charge or conviction. I know Goodell has jumped the gun on Pacman without conviction but we all know that's a different scenario. The new policy is made to crack down on repeat offenders and as fas as I'm concerned, this is his first offense (along with Chambers, who shoudn't even be charged.)

If you're right, that would be odd but almost deserving. Because of that London game, the Fins don't play back to back home games this year. We would have 2 home games, a BYE then another home game, but we split it all with a trio to Wembley.

If it was Randy Moss the Dolphins fans would have said 'I told you so' and wanted Randys head to hang.

Shouldn't both players be fined or suspended? They both agreed to take it outside and the rest of the story is just hear-say, there's no proof it was anyone besides the two players involved. If there were others involved why is it Porter was the only one charged and fined? If there is video tape then there would have been others charged, if there were eyewitnesses stating there were more then just the two involved then there would be other charges filed, there weren't. Obviously there were only two and only one had evidence of a beating and it wasn't Porter. Nonetheless, both players agreed to fight so both players should be fined or suspended if the NFL takes any action.

Sounds more to me like it was an attack from Joey onto Levi first...If Joey instigated the fight then he is at fault and only he..After all if you are a huge offensive lineman and bigger than the guy pounding your face, are you going to just sit there and get belted ?or be a man and fight back....Joey started it and was helped by his friends - Witness accounts

sounds like you're afraid of the dolphins for some reason, would you have made this thread if he was still a steeler?
